I have been with Sharesight for the last 12 months and have recently subscribed for another 12 months. I am happy with the software and is doing what it was intended to do. Which is keep track of my investments and display them in an easy format which I can easily read and interpret. Also the seamless automatic pulling in of info from my broker is a game changer. Not to mention customer support is just brilliant. Always following up and keeping on top of things. Thanks Sharesight, keep up the great work.
be careful before signing up
I have been unable to update my portfolio for months, as it wont transfer a saved trade to my portfolio, thereby rendering the program worse than useless, as it misrepresents the true financial position.
Support has been of the "are you still experiencing this issue" time wasting variety.
The concept is great
Execution less so
Support ,by email only, slow and not helpful.
Sharesight has become a very valuable tool that helps me keep track of my family's holdings both quickly and accurately and in a format I understand. This product is intuitive to use; even for users with limited finance experience. Probably my favorite benefit of Sharesight is I now have the ability to have meaningful conversations with multiple financial advisors, with my tablet or phone in hand, and review results in a format I understand instead of having to navigate the advisor's confusing and proprietary reports.
This is very helpful platform so far to monitor the portfolio and all the help during tex time.
It is hard to find a site that collects both NZ share prices and NZ funds. Sharesight does this, makes it easy to add transactions and presents the results very clearly. Keep up the good work!
Worst program ever Cannot transfer ifo from CMC markets. No one to call. Would be happy to have help with team viewer
Hi I have sent several questions to Ashik , over 3 days ago , I can see he has viewed them but has not bothered to reply , I find this customer service terrible
I have just renewed my Sharesight (expert) subscription after the first twelve months, and it is hands down the best time saving investment I have ever made.
The first thing I realized when I got my portfolios set up and started exploring Sharesight's features, was just how lacking my old Excel spreadsheets were (despite the hours I constantly seemed to put into them). Sharesight opened my eyes to a number of things that were obscured previously. e.g. Several shares that I had considered to be relatively modest performers showed up as real stalwarts once the impact of dividends was factored in. Other US investments appeared to be several percentage points removed from what I had thought once currency changes were properly calculated. It's not that I was unaware of my dividends, or of exchange rate variations, I just wasn't able to aggregate the info into such a visually informative state.
The best thing about Sharesight is the way it can prepare reports for tax time. There are several available reports for taxable income, capital gains and more that can be prepared in a few easy clicks.
Honestly, if you have a couple of portfolios, say personal and SMSF, and maybe looking after a parent's investments as well, being able to spit out those reports at tax time is worth the annual Sharesight subscription alone.
Twice during the year I emailed tech support when I was unsure about something, and both times I got prompt, helpful, human responses that solved my problems same day.
I am extremely happy with Sharesight, and have no hesitation recommending it.

I love Sharesight. If you go to the trouble to put in your investments it is such as easy way to keep track of everything.
One of the best portfolio tracking tools i have seen. Focusses on analytics of your personal portfolio which is my primary requirement (not so much on research. you can use other websites for this). The Custom Groups feature is stellar. I was maintaining this categorization in excel sheet, and I was lucky to find a tool that provided me exactly this feature. I assessed couple of other websites for portfolio insights for about a month (even paid the monthly fee for 1 month), and finalized Sharesight.com.
Good job guys. Just one request, can you increase the limit of number of Custom Groups and number of portfolios for the lower subscription level - just by a couple of more allowed.
I was confused by my capital gain % number since first purchase for a particular stock - it didn't appear correct. I reached out to the team, Ricky asked a couple of questions to understand the problem and gave a clear explanation as to why the numbers were showing as they were (an annualized return vs a cumulative return). Very helpful :)
Software is painfully slow running reports and refreshing for the amount paid in fees, how about investing in some faster servers
Access to portfolio, easy to login and navigate … plenty of features to love and explore for a newbie investor
Great product but recent changes to paid services was not welcomed!
It would be good to also see last financial year for the overview charts
I recently upgraded to Investor Level, bringing in a second portfolio. I needed help to bring my shares over, and Ricky couldn't have been more helpful. Nothing was too much trouble and it was all done in a timely manner. So far, I couldn't be happier! And I imagine tax time will be a breeze, as well as being able to see how my portfolio is performing at any time.
Sharesight is a great way to manage your foreign shareholdings....I used to maintain all sorts of records for exchange rate movements and dividend payments all of which are no longer necessary. Completing my tax return for foreign investments is also really easy
Love being able to hit a button anytime of the day or night and Sharesight shows your position without needing to use a calculator or thinking your may have missed something. Love Sharesight.
