Good interest rates

Have been banking with Shawbrook for a number of years. I saved with them and have a cash Isa with them. They offer good interest rates and have a website that is easy to navigate. Money request are handled quickly and safely. I recommend Shawbrook for good value.

Terrible for Cash ISA transfers out

Shawbrook are fine when transferring in Cash Isas but transferring out from them is a nightmare.
I arranged a transfer to another provider over 3 weeks before the maturity and Shawbrook acknowledged this in an email saying the transfer would be put on hold until the maturity date.
I then received several emails and account notifications saying that they had not received my maturity instructions, and an email on the maturity date saying that, as they had not received instruction, they were moving funds to a 0.1% account.
They then repeatedly quote the 15 working day government guideline which is actually a maximum time based on the old paper based/postal transfer process and only involves 5 days for Shawbrook to transfer the money.

From the GOV.UK website:
Cash ISA transfers
Cash ISA to Cash ISA transfers must take place within 15 business days of the transfer instruction being received by the new ISA manager, unless the investor stipulates that the 15 days starts on a later date. The 15 days are broken down as:
1. The new ISA manager has 5 business days to forward the instruction to you.
2. You have 5 business days to send the funds and information to be provided to the new ISA manager.
3. The new ISA manager has 3 business days to apply the funds to the new ISA.
4. The other 2 days are to allow for time taken for first class post between you and the new manager.

A ;person answered the phone

A ;person answered the phone! I was unable to get through to view my account. We tried a number of things when talking to the first person-then called back and got someone else . Both were helpful, but the second man had an out of field thought. The clock on my computer was 2 minutes out as the system had gone down at my end for 2 mins. !! All sorted. Brilliant service. Date below could be out by a few days.
