Been banking with Shawbrook for a few years now. They have very competitive interest rates and their website is very easy to navigate.

Always great service from Shawbrook Bank. I’ve been using Shawbrook for years- they are always helpful and attentive. Rates are not quite as competitive as they used to be but still good.

I share the same problem as others on…

I share the same problem as others on here. I had a cash ISA maturing and gave Shawbrook Bank instructions well before the deadline date to transfer out my ISA to another provider. The new provider acknowledged my instruction immediately and so did Shawbrook Bank. When the day came for transfer, nothing happened. When I queried this, they said they had not received the transfer instruction until after the maturity date and my funds were now receiving 0.10% and would take up to 15 working days as per Gov’t regs, yada yada. I contacted them again and pointed out it was their error because everything was all documented on the messages. They then came back to say that they had transferred the funds out that day (so not 15 days then) and made out it was my misunderstanding. Strange then how many others have had exactly the same experience? No apology for their mistake. I would never use this company again just on their attitude let alone the incompetence.
Edit: See reply.
Like I said...attitude... "regret for my frustration" is not an apology for their mistake.

Good morning Mrs Brewis, we're sorry for your frustration.

ISA transfers can take up to 15 working days under government regulations however this is a guideline rather than a fixed timescale and many transfers, including yours, complete sooner. We regret if our communication caused confusion. If you'd like us to review your case in detail, please contact us directly on 0345 2 66 66 11, Monday - Friday, 9am to 5pm, excluding bank holidays.

As a long time customer I don’t like Shawbrooks policy of rewarding new customers with higher interest on Everyday Saver.

Where is my money????

I have two Shawbrook Bank cash isa’s sold to me by their “banking partner” Hargreaves Lansdown. Their isa’s clearly say “Powered by Shawbrook”. I opened the first one in November 2025. Because some of my money was moved by Hargreaves Landsdown into a poorer interest paying Shawbrook Isa. I needed a full statements of both accounts (totalling ive £40k). Hargreaves can’t produce a statement (see their response to my complaint). They say they don’t have the money, it’s with their banking partner Shawbrook and only they can issue proper statements showing the balances.
I rang Shawbrook the lady I spoke to said it’s nothing to do with them and they are not responsible for anything HL do. Also they are not their agent. She said “If you bought a Bosch washing machine you don’t go to Bosh if it goes wrong !!!” I replied “I have and I did and they fixed” what a stupid analogy. I said “HL is the retailer and you are the manufacturer. The money is in your bank (unless HL have stolen it which I doubt. So I have no legal documentation I need to pursue a claim on my money. Shawbrook allows someone to sell their products using their name then washes their hands of any liability. When I took out the first Isa there was no mention of Shawbrook Bank until the account was open.
I would avoid this company like the plague.

Response to your reply:- Hargreaves Landsdown is not licensed to receive Isa deposits so they are using you who are. As the licence holder and holder of the funds in my two isa’s you are required by FCA rule: COBS.4 to provide, in durable form, statements of accounts. If you and Hargreaves Landsdown have entered into an arrangement where they are holding the funds, they can’t do that and you should not let them. Isa’s as their name says can not be held on behalf or jointly with someone else. You as the licence holder are responsible for ensuring I understood the problems with this product under FCA rules PRIN.2 and PRIN.2A. You have my number so you could have reached out to me.

Good afternoon Mark,

Thank you for sharing your experience and for providing the additional information.

When an account is opened through Hargreaves Lansdown, they administer the account and hold the customer records. Shawbrook is a separate legal entity and does not receive customer data or issue statements for accounts managed through HL.

As HL’s Active Savings platform offers Shawbrook ISAs alongside those from other providers, they are best placed to assist with your query.

We apologise for any inconvenience caused and for not being able to assist further on this occasion.
