Shop app and Shopify are promoting scam…

Shop app and Shopify are promoting scam sellers and refusing to take any responsibility. I just tried to report a scam site that took my money Shop says I need a URL for the order BUT there are no URLs on the Shop App so their form will not accept the report. I thought the seller was legit because they were registered with Shop but their website is down and they have disappeared without a trace

I wish I could give 0 stars. It's a scam.

I wish I could give 0 stars. My husband was scammed by one of their adverts for the satnav. The satnav did arrive but it's like the ones you can buy for about £35 on Amazon. Just nasty cheap crap. Plus they took two other payments from his bank account. Needless to say they haven't replied to any emails to explain why they took further payments. There was never an order confirmation email either. And their order tracking doesn't work. We will be going for recovery of funds through his bank.

AVOID

Shopify take no responsibility for sites that use their site for scams. i have lost about £200 on a transaction, the shop has disappeared and I am left with only my bank to help.

They are deliberately impossible to contact and as such I wouldnt use them for any thing

Dumb asses

Dumb asses. They provide a contact form to be completed, we fill it, we validate, no confirmation appears on the screen then the form represents itself, virgin. However, we receive by email a ACK from the form, but which requires repeating the process endlessly. The information entered is therefore not taken into account. Interesting and professional, right?

Part of the problem!

Platform appears to be legit as they do coordinate part of the sales/transaction process for some reputable companies.

However, they also facilitate the transactions of fraudulent scammers and therefore appear to be a massive part of the problem with no integrity as a company. Shopify / Shop… so unbelievably immoral.

Rip of !

Absolutely horrible experience with Shopify.
Started to build the website which was supposed to be "Plug And Play, but it was not. Then when I asked for help they suggested using Shopify partners, and guess what,now you had to pay to get help!!!Then they take control of your own website, basically steeling your website, and when I realised this I cancelled right away, only to be billed 25 euros for something I still dont now what is. I protested and gpt the reply" This email is not active,and your communication has not been received".

Be very careful with these people!

Store went offline after taking payment No help available

Purchased from a Shopify store, only for the website to disappear offline once I had paid and received confirmation of payment.
The complaint/help chat was absolutely useless. After explaining I had lost money and that the website had gone offline this was the response I got from the online help line
“ Alright! If there's nothing else I can help you with, I’ll go ahead and wrap up our chat here. Wishing you a wonderful rest of your day, and lots of success with your amazing store! I will be available for you via email in case you need further assistance”

I've used shopify many times never had…

I've used shopify many times never had a problem before until this week!! Placed two orders both which I had a problem with tried getting in touch but nobody answers complaints!! It's just a scam in eyes!! Wasted over 70.00 pound this week I definitely wouldn't recommend this platform at all stay clear!!

Would like to give zero stars DI NOT USE

Would like to give zero stars paid £2.65 for a digital pattern then had 2 lots of £499 taken - when I got an email to download the pattern I ended up in shopify not sure if trying to download through shopify started the process to take the 2 lots of £499. Bank fraud team contacted and blocks put on everything was also through PayPal so won’t be using them again either.

Bought through shopify

Bought through shopify, believing the company I was buying from, called Turbolords, was in the UK. However not surprising from China. Product arrived, Raptor volt battery car starter, 27 days later but not as described or as photos. Just cheep chinese rubbish. Learnt my lesson.

This is a scam

This is a scam. They are not reputable. I signed up for a trial account and cancelled it shortly after on their website. Since then (a month ago) they have been trying to bill me every few days and they send me a message saying the payment failed. I replied and and of course their email to me was "can't reply to this message". They are not an honest company. Stay away!!! Do not give them your bank information, credit card etc.

Helps Fraudulent companies Operate

Shopify work with Fraudulent companies and you cannot raise disputes with them for 30 days plus after order has been placed. How can you promote companies which are fraudulent and take payment and goods are not received. Email address on receipt looks like a gmail personal account. Disgusting

Not to be trusted

I'm removing Shopify from my online shopping experience as they clearly partner with scam and fake shopping sites and there is nothing you can do to get your money back as they say it's between you and the merchant.
Stick to Amazon.

I’ve been a paying customer of Shopify…Account blocked for over a month – no service, no explanation


I’ve been a paying customer of Shopify and my account has been blocked for more than a month without any valid reason.
I have complied with all requirements, submitted all documents, and respected their policies.

Despite this, Shopify has:

Provided zero explanation for the suspension.

Ignored my support requests – their so-called “support” is just a chat bot that escalates nothing.

Taken my money while keeping my store completely unusable.

This is a total scam experience: I am paying for a service that Shopify refuses to deliver, and they hide behind their mysterious “Trust & Safety” team that merchants can’t even contact directly.

Absolutely unacceptable for a platform that pretends to help entrepreneurs.
If my issue is not solved immediately, I will move my business elsewhere and make sure other merchants are warned.

Shopify well

Shopify well! What can i say .Shopify tempts you in with easy to make websites ,Yes that was true I got that done .What they failed to tell customers is that you will never make it through google merchant without a computer whizz kid degree .That is what has upset me . What a waste of time and money ,You speak to customer service who know nothing ,Avoid! !! is all I have to say .You will save yourself a lot of time wasted down the drain.
