What an appaling company

What an appaling company. We booked 3 separate stays in October and November and the service provided was awful. We had one day when the electricity was cut off for the whole day. When we asked what we were supposed to do as we needed the Internet was “tough” you’re on holiday so go out somewhere. The caravans were old and tired and the park offers next to nothing in terms of entertainment. A wholly terrible experience which warrants zero stars but that is not possible. Avoid Shorefield Oakdene at all costs.

Myself & my sister booked 10days away…

Myself & my sister booked 10days away with our dogs at the site near Bournemouth in aug we were near the play park & the first thing we noticed we had travellers nxt to us as 2 woman alone we were worried about problems from our neighbours they were o ly their one day&night while we was their but the language from the father was awful & the mess left behind was disgusting dirty nappies cansbottles bags of open rubbish which was only cleaned up after someone opposite us reported it to reception surly the pitch should of been inspected on leaving ? Also the amount of tents squashed in infront of us was horrendous not showing that on ur website when looking on booking ? Plus ball games being played in the road & between tents not in the massive field that was allowed for children ? Which brings me on to the subject off us, never booking again. The dog walking field that you call it. The size of a postage stamp was horrendous. We had 3 dogs between us, and it was not big enough for them to have a good run. The kids had a massive play area, which they did not use all of and did not need it could have been fenced off further up towards the swimming pool, to make access for people with dogs as most people have them for everybody to be able to walk their dogs and play in a sensible sized area? There was no access off the campsite to be to let your dogs off their leads to run anywhere. There was no pavements to walk them anywhere to get to a field either as the main road came straight into the complex? If you didn't have a car, you had nowhere to go? My last point is the shower block. It was disgustingly filthy hair everywhere. Dirty floor tiles didn't look like it ever been cleaned from 1 day to another. No notices on the wall with cleaning progress. I tried an evening was terrible than I tried a morning.Just as bad reported this to reception was told, there should be a chart on the wall i said there wasn't, and even when I left, there still hadn't been rectified ? This holiday I take once year with my sister. Cost me £51 per night. And I do not feel it was worth the money. I was also disgusted that when on leaving day, we asked if we could stay a few hours, we was told we'd have to pay an extra days rental just for a few hours. Most places only charge about £5/£10 to stay on for a few hours. Nobody was coming on our pitch, and I don't understand why you think it's justified to charge another days rent? I'm sorry that I've had to put all these complaints in, but I do believe that people should be able to read the true aspect of where they're staying so they can judge for themselves if they want to stay or not. I hope that you can address some of these issues and move forward?

End of May, Four day break.

Was there in May on a four day break.
Had lunch and dinner in the on site restaurant. The Beachcomber. I spent the next four days confined to the mobile home with severe sickness and diarrhea ( the worst four days ever) I was unable to leave the mobile home to take my family anywhere. Got no help whatsover from the company. Never again!

Shorefield caravan booking

Advert incorrect parking shown on the web site when arrived on site on parking by the caravan
Both shower mixers were faulty so unable to have a shower
Key enty lock not working so unable to gain access to caravan
No secure Internet unless you pay an additional fee which is NOT mentioned on the booking site ,even the TV was not not a smart TV so no apps available
I would strongly recommend NOT to stay at this sites if booking one of shore Field's caravans
The caravan I had booked was a Supreme,I dread to think what a basic caravan would be like

RATS!

RATS!! we found fats in our holiday home. RATS in the bin stores outside the kitchen. And very rude staff when asking for help with the vermin. Avoid these holiday parks.

*Dangerous if you have pet…

*Dangerous if you have pet allergies/asthma.*

We all have allergies to pet fur and asthma. The website implies that only certain caravans are pet-friendly but no. We were put in a caravan which smelt of wet dog and had dog hair on the floor. There was no indication at any point throughout the booking process or on arrival that we were being put in a pet-friendly caravan. After emailing customer services, I still cannot make out if they allow dogs in all caravans or not. The communication is not great and they do not seem to grasp the issue with putting people in a pet-friendly caravan without their knowledge. This may be intentional to not put people off booking. They offered to re-clean the caravan but when the member of staff arrived he was only going to change the hoover bag and spray air freshener! I have asked for a hoover and a mop at the very least. They also offered us the only other available caravan on site but that one was a downgrade. Hopefully the extra clean plus a week of antihistamines and inhalers will see us through.

One of our meals from the restaurant was cold and the children's evening entertainment is slow. The parking spaces are small and the caravans are cramped together.

Hopefully we will enjoy the pools and playgrounds, I will update in due course.

Evening service run by children.

I’m giving this 2 star for the evening service. Firstly I came in with my partner and my dog for breakfast … Kerry who served us was FANTASTIC she deserves 5* we really liked her! She was funny, great with my dog and attended all of our needs …she held conversations and she was exactly what hospitality needs. we were planning to have dinner here to be told food stops at 7 (kind of strange) so we decided to have a drink instead… we had 2 cocktails. The service was shocking.. not only was it run by children they had absolutely no idea how to make a cocktail. Simple chore for simple minds really. Such a shame as it was our first time here and the camp is stunning as was breakfast service. Evening service has put us off so we won’t be returning. But if Kerry reads this you really was a fab host!

Not impressed this visit ☹️

We love shorfield and holiday there 3 to 4 times a year
But Sadly this visit wasn’t so good 😞
In Our lodge the fridge freezer was so frosty 🥶 the fridge wasn’t working so we had to have a small fridge stuck in front of it in our way! We realised the toilet was really dirty 😖we were only given 😳only 1 toilet roll between 2 of us for 4 days 🤷‍♀️the bath had red nail polish marks in it
Also they have stopped giving the dogs biscuits and poo bags really!! We do pay £9 per dog per night
We’re disappointed ☹️ we love shorfield these cut backs will affect customers and their decisions to continue to re book

Cancellation policy

I booked a 3 night break at Lytton Lawn for 2 of us in a motorhome. Unfortunately the day before I came down with Covid. I explained the situation and asked if the booking could be moved. I felt it would have been irresponsible to turn up spreading germs in communal areas.
Shoreham were totally inflexible stating they don't issue refunds which was not what I had asked for.
In the bigger picture........ a 3 night touring booking is of little value to a large company dealing in static holiday homes.
A little positive customer service goes a long way!

Had an amazing stay the only thing I would suggest is the WiFi speed is increased from 5mbps so things download quicker at night 10mbps is more sufficient apart from that I would definitely come again please bare this in mind as other caravan sites near the area offer better WiFi for guests less restrictive for guests

Shorefield cancellation policy

Shorefield cancellation policy. We booked a weeks break at Shorefield holiday camp site. But four weeks before we were due to arrive my wife broke her arm and needed a plate and screws inserted. As soon as I knew we I contacted Shorefield and asked if we could change the date. But Shorefield answer was NO. I had two options only lose the deposit or give the booking away. So be careful when booking as the non flexibility of this popular site is very different from the friendly web site picture.

The Milford-on-Sea site is lovely

The Milford-on-Sea site is lovely. Very well maintained and the refurbished indoor entertainment area is great.

It’s a good central location for a family holiday with lots to do (within a 30 min drive).

If you are thinking of purchasing a holiday home here, please do not. Go and look elsewhere. There is Hoburn Naish, Hoburn Bashley, Sandhills - all close by and much nicer. It is scruffy and tired. The management tell lies to get you to buy and rip you off once you have bought.
