I do not recommend, please read this review before you rent a car from this rental company. I rented the car at the beginning of November. I bought full insurance, everything was without any problems until I checked my account at the end of January the following year. The rental company without my knowledge, without informing me took money from my account. After writing an email to explain the situation, they said it was for a traffic ticket, after which the contact broke off and until now I have not received any confirmation of the ticket. It looks like a usual scam. I do not recommend renting a car from these scammers.

I strongly advise against hiring a car from this provider!
I made the mistake of paying the entire price in advance. Unfortunately, when I arrived at Catania airport, I could only show my driving licence document digitally. I asked for an alternative option and would have even settled for a partial refund. I sent eight emails over the next few days. Despite the language barrier, I took the time to write all the emails in Italian. All I received in reply was a reference to the terms and conditions and a sham offer. On arrival at the airport, I repeatedly explained that it would not be possible to send my driving licence document from Germany (too long postal delivery times and public holidays, 10-day holiday) and asked for a refund. I paid 728 euros for a service that I was unable to use! In all the 25 countries in the world I have travelled to so far, I have NEVER experienced such a bad and unemphatic service as at Sicily Rent Car!

The online booking and pick up procedures are quick and easy. The staff is friendly and efficient. The cars are new and perfect. They also allow the possibility of leaving the security deposit by debit card and not by credit card: this is a huge plus for me, because the imposition of using a credit card, observed by other companies, has discriminated me for years and forced me to do without a car on all my previous trips. I am absolutely satisfied with this company and will definitely use its services in the future. Keep it up!

Scam! At least if not Italian. We showed up and they stated no cars were available. When we reached out about a refund, the company changed the reason to that we weren’t “capable” of driving since we were in tears after 16 hours of travel. We asked them to call the police for a breathalyzer if that was the case, as we were in shock by the accusations. We went next door and received a car in minutes. They now want us to take down our reviews to be refunded when no service was provided.

Scammers avoid SRC rentals they’re nothing more than con artists. They charged me €1100 for a minuscule pinhead mark on the lower edge of the windscreen which I wasn’t responsible for. Needless to say they’ll never replace the windscreen you can’t even see it

Rental made at Catania Airport, Sicily. Clear online booking. Office adjacent to terminal. No queue. Friendly, professional staff. No hard sell of extras. Encouragement to check vehicle for damages. Their damage inventory was accurate. Car nearly new and of equivalent standard to that which we booked. Return office easy to find. Vehicle was thoroughly inspected but no funny business. Not had deposit returned yet - they said could take up to 2 weeks which seems long. If you don't prang it, and if you bring it back full of petrol, these people will not give you any hassle. I would defo use them again in Italy.

Nothing more than common thieves. They cheated me on missing fuel by charging extra fee. I've tanked to max just before returning the car, about 10 meters from the parking lot. I've even shared card transaction confirmation, but they didn't care. It's a totally unprofessional and pathetic company. Really, SRC, do you think it's worth to fight over 36 euros only to get negative reviews? Do you have any idea of good customer support? Apparently not. I really don't care about it, I've paid for full insurance and all the extras, why should I? Still, I can't allow other travelers to get into your trap. tl;dr DON'T RENT FROM SRC

Shady company. During the checkout process, the operator immediately went to the lower front end of the car and pointed out a scratch. Although I took photos and videos at the start, I didn’t document this area below the car. I know that I did not touch anything while driving so the scratch was likely there before.

They charged my full deposit of 300 EUR for this minor scratch (they conveniently produced an estimate of 3.5 hours of work required to fix it!), even though a simple 25 EUR polishing pad would make it disappear. They ignored all communications related to this charge. Other customers have reported online the same exact scam with this company.

Avoid at all costs—this company will steal your money.

**Attention: Important Notice Before Renting from SRC Firenze Airport**

I want to share my experience with SRC Firenze Airport to inform potential customers of their rental practices. As a frequent car renter, I have never encountered such issues. Be cautious and consider other rental options to avoid similar problems.

I rented a VW T-Roc and was initially offered a lower class car. After insisting, they finally gave me the correct car but only after claiming none were available. The agent then tried to sell me extra coverage insurance, which I declined because my Revolut card covers it. For reference, his insurance offer was tripling the rental price. He falsely stated that my insurance wouldn't cover certain items in Italy like tires and the windscreen, which was untrue (my insurance reimbursed me later as expected). He then became visibly upset, stopped talking to me, and got another agent to finish the process.

The car was dirty and many damages were not listed in their report. I got the agent to add all unlisted damages to his report and documented everything with videos and photos. When returning the car, the agent immediately and suspiciously checked only the windscreen and found a tiny chip, which was visible in my pre-departure video. Despite showing them evidence, they charged me €880 without further discussion. My attempts to contact them and provide evidence were ignored.

Carglass Italy quoted €30 for the repair, highlighting the excessive and fraudulent charge from SRC.

Our recent experience with SRC was good. We rent a car from Florence airport. We booked to pick up at 7 PM but couldn't return on time. The staff called to remind us and waited for us. We came at around 8 PM and worked through the process to get the car. The guy was helpful and very meticulous about the car inspection. Thankfully, we read all the reviews before booking and were very careful while driving. We booked with a debit card, which is very convenient for us. We also paid for a 15 euro car wash as we returned the car at 5:30 AM and went to the airport easily to get a tram to the city center for a train to another city. We received a report with no further damage on the car via email just 1 day after the return. Overall, good experience.

If possible, i would give 0 stars for this company of burglars. When i made the return of the car, in Firenze airport, the surveyor told me there was only a minimal damage, (only visible if a magnifying glass), that wouldn't be charged. One week later, they did it. More than 300 euros for a ridiculous damage! Bandits!!!. Estay far way from this group, otherwise you wanna be stoled!!!

Americans Beware! Unfortunately I had the displeasure of renting a car from this company while traveling to visit family
I picked up the car from the Milan Linate Airport. I grew up driving a standard so I didn't think I would have any issues. I realized into the trip that I could not figure out how to put the car in reverse. I called the company and told them I couldn't get it into reverse. Marco told me...bring the car back. I had to drive the hour back from Brescia. As I entered the parking lot I realized I was in a closed lane. Luckily an older gentleman was walking by. I explained the car was broken and I couldn't get it in reverse. He hops on and viola, he puts it in reverse. Apparently you have to pull up to put in in reverse. I go inside and explain to Marco I had to drive the hour back and he apologized for not explaining it to me instead of having me return to the airport. I turn the car in and they charge me an additional fee because the gauge is just Infront of full. Then they lie and say they tried to explain how to put the car in reverse but I didn't understand. If a company can't be honest go elsewhere.

We picked up the car at Pisa airport.
Our experience was very positive. The employees were very kind. We paid another €15 for extra washing, but because of that we got a car that is a class higher than what we paid for. The car was clean and relatively new. All recommendations for SRC from us

We rented a car from SRC Linate, didn’t have a booking but the person at the desk gave us the best deal out of all other companies at the airport.

Customer service was excellent, best I’ve ever seen at a car rental company. On our return we arrived one hour late just after closing time and they waited for us to return the keys.

I rented a car and the staff at delivery didn't give me all the instructions for return, and they consigned the car outside the park. As a result, there was damage going back to the parking, that damage that was fully charged to me without considering the missing information they give.

I rented the car without issues when I arrived but because it was night I didn't see the tiny crack on the windscreen. My eldest son who is 15 but autistic saw it but didn't say anything because he didn't know he had to. The lady giving us the car took pictures of the vehicle and DID NOT send them to us, nor noticed the crack herself. In good faith, as soon as I noticed it and my son told me it was already there, I phoned them and then sent them pictures by email explaining I didn't want to be charged since it wasn't my fault. I had no reply to the email and didn't think about until I returned the car. Only then the employee took further pictures (so after mines) and said not to worry, to sign out the car and they would deal with it. Not to worry my ass! I am a single mum on benefits with children with disabilities and they billed me €800+ admin fees for that damage I didn't do! I disputed it several times by email and even called the bank to try and get my money back but since they're being dishonest and saying I can't prove it was already there (as they wouldn't provide the night pictures!!!!!) they have left a single mum out of pocket! Absolutely disgusting scum! I hope they have a crap Xmas as they just robbed us of ours!

Would give this disgrace of a company zero stars if I could. Future customers - don't be fooled by the good reviews. We hired a car from Palermo, which had "low tyre pressure" according to a dashboard alert about 30 minutes into our drive. After parking the car during a short trip, the tyre flattened completely. Roadside assistance not only failed to replace the tyre, but they also towed the car away without consent. This contradicts what SRC guaranteed over the phone. To make matters worse, SRC has also withdrawn nearly $260 from my bank account without my permission, relating to charges for "missing fuel" and replacement of the tyre. These are charges I am not responsible for, as a customer bearing the burden of SRC's lack of due diligence. They've been a nightmare to deal with over the phone and their staff couldn't be more unsympathetic towards what was an incredibly stressful experience. Do not hire a car with SRC. They're thieves and if you aren't careful, they'll take as much cash as they can get their hands on from unsuspecting customers.

Everything was just flawless. The car, the service, the price, the customer support, the whole experience. Thanks for that! You were a big part of our holiday being great.

Both the collection of the car in Palermo (very correct and friendly man) and the delivery of the vehicle at the airport (also a very friendly lady there) went smoothly. The car was fairly new and clean. On my next visit to Sicily, I have no hesitation in working with this rental company again.
