Signature at Bentley house

Signature at Bentley house, Hertford. The menu has 'flowery' descriptions of food that is poor. Tasteless trout (I've eaten it myself), dry overcooked breaded chicken, dry fish & chips, naan bread that is actually cheap pitta bread. Scampi so small that it's all batter. Jelly as a pudding, cheap deal. Residents tell each other not to complain. Surveys are based on the 25 residents who are able bodied and scared to raise their head above the parapet. Other residents are too frail to fill it in. Activities are poor.
"Resident led social interactions" = cut back on staff.
"Resident led games" = out of date magazines dumped on table.
"Resident led knitting/poetry reading" hasn't happened as no residents are capable to lead. It just fills a gap on an otherwise empty timetable. Flower arranging =flowers dumped on table, residents get on with it.
Signature say "we're sorry this is your experience" ....This IS the experience and it's a travesty that it's allowed.

Working with signature

Worse company I have EVER worked for being in care over many years I’d like to say I have experience behind my back.
This company is absolutely disgusting the staff are rude, obnoxious and simply unpleasant to be around. DO NOT work for this company. If 0 star was possible I’d definitely do that. You can easily tell most staff are there just for the money.

This company has no scruples

This company has no scruples, spotting the opportunity of a dying relative, and another relative seriously ill in their care, to add me to their marketing spam list without my consent. The last thing I need to know about right now is new care homes near me, and least of all new care homes managed by them.

I was very impressed with the…concern shown for Barry's wellbeing. keeping us updated and working with us to make him comfortable and safe.

I was very impressed with the accommodation, it is not like the traditional care home. The facilities which are available and all the activities. The staff are friendly, helpful and very caring. Everything about the whole operation is professional. This is the level of care that anyone would want and deserve.
They are so thoughtful, that is what we have experienced with our loved one. There are specific people assigned to him to keep everything constant and stable for him. Whenever we visit we are always welcomed.

My mother lived in the Farnborough in…

My mother lived in the Farnborough in Hampshire care home. Originally it was Gracewells until it was brought out by signature. She was there for just over 5 years. Final cost of £7,500 per month. She passed away a couple of days ago and on arrival at the care home and seeing my mum I was approached by one of the manager told me whilst my mum was laying dead in the bed. That even when she had been collected by the undertaker I would be charged full price until everything was out of her room. I had paid over £350,000 for her care and wouldn’t even give me a day or 2 free to clear her room. We had even paid £4000 upfront to cover refurbing the room when she left.
The nurses and carers are amazing and worth their weight in gold and she was well cared for. But management just interested in the money. Very heartless and no consideration to families feeling once they pass.
They have no leaflets to hand out what happens next. You get the feeling. They have died. Let’s get them out and get the next one in quickly.

Reigate Grange Surrey

Reigate Grange Care Home in Surrey
Having a relative in this home on the dementia floor was a great worrying for our family & Friends. With staff that don't seem to be dementia trained & the dehydration concerns along with medication which was a great worry that i can see in the CQC report now has been highlighted on their safety standards and the management. But shocks us is Care is still rated good and should been be taken down to needs improving & lower. Food was shocking and such a poor standard that a Nazi would be shocked. The Management was shocking all the way to the top that did nothing to sort the problems out. This place is not what you see on the internet, facebook and Signature Senior Lifestyle is not a company i would recommend for a care home to anyone. We felt sorry for the good staff that we met & the other staff they had to work with. But worry about the other residence that are still here as i am sure our family member was not the only one that was treated badly. Care Home is in the name and this place is not if you were on the dementia floor. The floor seems to be run by your girls who seem to be friends of the general manager, Then you see that other family members work together here can be a pattern for trouble. denying and hiding problems that have now come out in the guardian newspaper. So glad we took our family member out of here.

Poor Care and abuse

At Reigate Grange my mum kept getting hurt in this home on the dementia floor hilltops & what my mum was coming out with was disturbing to hear. The home kept saying how she was getting hurt was unseen. I then walked into my mum's room and saw a male carer who was bent down by her bed & made a quick exit. I noticed my mum was petrified & shaking, clinging to my girlfriend's arm. don't leave me. I emailed the head of dementia requesting a meeting and she never even replied. The home took into the 3rd month to reply after being asked by safeguarding to do so. I decided to install a hidden camera & was horrified what had been recorded. When management was informed of our concerns we did not always receive a reply or any reassurance that things were being dealt with. The Management & staff need to be held accountable for what happened to my mum which was published by the Guardian Newspaper 14th October-22
CQC has published some of the problems that was going on for my mum at the care home. There is lack of dementia training here among a lot of staff and the food i would not give a fox. Giving my mum fish and meat on the same dish & food that was unrecognizable at times. I tasted the food when i went in & had to complaint on numerous times. Dehydration was also a great problem here that put my mum into hospital. I would give this care home and the company 0 stars if i could.
