SimOptions was informative and the easy to install
SimOptions was informative and the website helped to compare different eSims so I could choose the one that made sense for me. Immediately upon purchasing, received order confirmation and email with esim qr code and installation instructions attached. Seems super easy and much better than a physical sim card.

Avoid simoptions for European travel
The phone number was the main reason I bought this esim. However they could not get it to work. I had to buy an esim from another company. Simoptions customer service started off helpful, then showed no competence to fix the problem and then ignored me. I can't understand how they remain in business.
Then after reviewing them on Trustpilot, they reply asking for the same info which is already in their support ticket. All my responses are in there and I've used the product as instructed. Why can't they fix the problem or refund my payment?

I think this company is a joke.
I think this company is a joke.
But I also feel this is my own mistake. I fell for the low price on their eSIM. I couldn’t connect on the activation day, so I emailed support (which is the biggest joke in this company), and after three weeks I still haven’t received a reply. Of course, I waited until the evening for activation and eventually managed to make the eSIM work using an AI tool.
The internet is unstable, even in the city center (Cape Town). While traveling around the province, the connection quality varied a lot, sometimes no signal, sometimes 3G or EDGE.
I sincerely regret trying to save $3. It was worthwhile to buy a well-known eSIM, even if it’s a bit more expensive.
Don’t try to save money on cheap eSIM cards!

Works amazing !
Used SimOptions several times while traveling to Spain and France. Works amazing and supper simple to install and activate, just switch when plain lands and in a few minutes you are on-line. I lot more cost effective option in comparison to international plan of most wireless carriers.

Their eSIM didn’t work for me when I…
Their eSIM didn’t work for me when I was traveling to the UK. I tried to add it one day before the trip, but it couldn’t be added either via QR code or manually. Their support told me to try again after landing in the UK. However, it still didn’t activate there. I sent them screenshots and screen recordings, and it took them two days to send me a new QR code, which worked but was stuck in “No service” mode. After that, they stopped replying to my emails. I kindly asked for a refund, but there has still been no response from them. Not to mention that an eSIM from another provider activated instantly and worked without any problems.
This was surprising to me because the first time I used their eSIM while traveling to Belgium, everything went smoothly.
P.S. noone has replied to that “Management Escalation” email as well. It looks like their business strategy is: it works for the majority, so lets ignore the minority who has issues

The website indicates that I would get a SIM card with a Spanish phone number but they sent one with a Czech number which I did not know until I activated the card. They will not replace or refund!
