Simple Practice has made lots of improvements lately but gosh do they feel expensive. The platform isn’t bad though.

I can't log in to my therapist's website. AGAIN. I don't understand why it's so difficult to give me a password to use with my login. None of the links that I'm emailed work. And today, once again, the emails to allow me to log into my own account aren't being sent. Yes, I'm checking the correct email address. Yes, I'm checking the spam folder. I need to see what my therapist said to me. They refuse to use any service that is normal.
Please do not give this company your business if you deal with mental health! It is not a good fit for people who need mental health support. It may not be a good fit for people who are human beings, either.
It's okay though. It's not like I'm in the middle of a depression spiral. It's not like I occasionally experience intrusive, suicidal ideation.
Oh, wait a minute. Oops.
Oh well! I guess I can see my therapist's message some other day, right, SimplePractice? Let's hope I can survive long enough for you to get your willfully inflexible service in order.
Both this company and my therapist should be ashamed of themselves.
*EDIT*
SimplePractice tried to get this review taken down for "containing harmful or illegal content." They think that I'm the one who's done something wrong here... I feel that that says everything you need to know about them and what they stand for. I'm no longer with this particular therapist and I urge anyone whose therapist uses this awful company to take similar steps. You are worth more than that, I promise you.
I have been using Simple Practice for several years now. I find it very easy to use. Billing is now a breeze. Previously it would take me hours to bill, pay postage, etc. Now it takes only a few minutes. It fits my needs perfectly. My only complaint is customer service- I've always found then polite, however it does take quite awhile to receive a response

I switched to Simple Practice after 15 years with another company and I regret it. I switched for compatibility with google calendar which is great, but setting up the ERA's has been a nightmare. I started last April and it is STILL not set-up. When I asked for a discount to my monthly rate until services were provided, I was told they don't do that. There have been countless emails back and forth with their support team many of which were cut and paste emails that did not address my email. It's so much work switching back to another company, but if you take insurance and use ERA's I'd find another company.

Simple Practice helps me stay organized. The software is easy to navigate, has features that professionals need, and is something I recommend to all professionals.

SimplePractice has made my practice significantly more streamlined over the years. Its ongoing, innovative improvements have reduced the amount of time I spend on administrative tasks, allowing me to focus more on the work that actually matters. The platform is user-friendly, intuitive, and reliable. I highly recommend SimplePractice for therapists who want to put their energy into supporting the people they serve—not navigating or fixing complicated systems.

It's ok, it does the basics. When you ask them for simple things like a face sheet, which every EMR has as a landing page (to put allergies, med trials, PMHx, Social Hx) you get responses like this: "I do want to reiterate that I’ve collaborated with all internal SimplePractice stakeholders, including management from the relevant internal teams, about your request and they came to the determination already shared with you. This is our final position at this time."
So they care more about their stakeholders than the clinicians, unfortunately.
It's also a common complaint that their notes collapse, making them very hard to read after the fact. They lose spaces in between your sections. This should be an easy fix, but they don't listen to us, again stakeholders > clinicians.

I’ve been using SimplePractice for ten years and I love it. Everything is contained in one easy portal. My clients love being able to book their own appointments and fill out their paperwork online. I have a small group practice and it scales nicely and has easy to access video training.

This has streamlined the business part of my practice so that, at age 79, I am still working because I can focus on the part of my work that I love.

I love SimplePractice! As a former Clinical Director now in private practice, I have worked in several different EHRs. SimplePractice is far superior to any other EHR I have worked with.

While this has decent features, I need to give a 1/5 star review just by how bad, oppositional and downright unprofessional the customer service is for this. I honestly would say you should never download this unless they fix the problem. I have been hung up on the second they pick up after waiting more than an hour. I have had 3 recovery codes sent to my phone so I can’t password recover. This is probably the worst experience I have had with an online service since the early 2000’s. For how much one pays for this service you would think you would get some decency but no. This was a terrible experience to use.
I've used Simple Practice since I started my private practice 7 years ago and have always had a great experience. They have adapted to meet the needs of their users and are generally responsive to our needs. I love how they have been innovative in transforming their platform to help us meet our needs better.
Simple practice purchased Luminello and functionality was absent with lagging and frankly nonfunction. I am now with Charm Health which is much better. Furthermore, Simple Practice conitnued to bill me following cancellation for over 1 year and are "unable to assist with refunds"
I have been using Simple Practice since 2018 and it has become an integral part of my therapy practice. I have what I need for scheduling, billing, progress notes, and intake forms. In addition, Simple Practice continues to roll out helpful options like AI note taking and analytics reports that assist me in understanding my practice numbers. When I started with Simple Practice I was a solo business owner and now own a group practice. Simple Practice made the transition to a group practice so much smoother!
I have been using Simple Practice for a year now and absolutely love it. It's easy to use and they offer a lot of great features. They are open to feedback, value security, and offer updated features such as AI. I'm not always the most tech savvy and sometimes have questions, and the customer services gets back to me quickly. Admittedly, I haven't used the telehealth feature but eventually if they make it as good as Google Meet, I'd definitely consider it. They are definitely better than the last billing software I used and I plan to stay with them.
I love Simple Practice and have been using the platform since 2017. I love that all of my paperwork, client information and billing, and scheduling are all in one place.
It truly has made my life simpler. Adding the AI note taker this past summer has absolutely been worth the additional cost. It has saved me so much time!
I am a CLIENT of a psychotherapist who uses this. It only works on phones and iPads--not laptops, so the visual is small and unsatisfactory. The terms of service provide NO ASSURANCE of privacy, and the Bot-driven help makes me think it is like every other app that is just mining my data to be able to sell me something. I will quit this provider because this is then only option.
I work as a receptionist at a small business, and we decided to switch to simple practice.
I really wish I could say it’s simple, but it has been the most complicated process imaginable and it is taking up so much time and energy.
We were told that it would simply transfer everything from our Google calendar into simple practice and because we use color coding that is not the case. I have sat for hours on end transferring all our clients appointments, one by one from Google calendar into simple practice. Back-and-forth from Google calendar to simple practice making sure I have all the correct information: name address, phone number, therapist, appointment day and time . We are currently booking into October so as you can imagine, this is a very lengthy process. We are telling everyone we know to avoid simple practice because it does not live up to its name at all.
The customer service is horrible. I have been charged for services and have been trying to get set up for e prescribe which I have been charged for. Can’t speak to anyone and then they keep you in the loop of telling you the same solution that has been tried multiple times. I would think twice about using them. There has to be a better company out there.
