Scam. Allowed somebody to scrape a staff email address and use it. Ridiculously lax verification policy.

TO AVOID
I ordered a one month trial option for a cost of € 1, unfortunately after a few days I noticed that an additional € 40.95 was deducted from my account as a kind of fee for the next 3 months, when I never agreed to it. Maybe I wouldn't be so mad at it if it wasn't for the fact that I didn't have any design options. The online store did not have the option to add a product. I couldn't delete pages that I didn't want. I had no way of editing the pages that I had previously opened to see how they would look like. The site is one big drama, so I really don't recommend it. At this point, the site was removed, after less than a week. I am wasting money, time and nerves that I spent on creating it.
Avoid her from afar !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I didn't like their service but they were honest enough to give me full refund when I asked them to cancel my subscription. For that they have my respect.

Signed up for free hosting. No mention of a trial period or expiry date in the T&C's. Recently they started demanding payment for using this "free" service, threatening to delete my account if I did not comply. Despicable act. I would not host a site with this company now even if they paid me to do so.

I have been with them for few yers
Wishing them very good success

Very misleading says it’s free, then you get bombarded with emails say they they are taking your site down as it’s a 30 days trial. What a wast of my time building a website that took me weeks to make then told you pay! This site is not cheap either compared to other better providers after research, which are free.
Don’t wast your time building one with them, there are much cheaper providers out there.
l love this simple site so much and l will still continue using it but l have a problem here last month l use the 1usd option the expiring date it was on the 18 November but l did not have money to renew it but USD 28.83 is deducted in my account .please l need a refund and l will renew my site later maybe by next week
Right now, the Simplesite advertising (at simplesite.com), it says "Try for free & keep it for free". This suggests you can keep a free website indefinitely. This is misrepresentation, as once you have set up your free account (as mentioned by the reviews below), suddenly it is limited to 30days or you have to pay. And not cheap either. I would post a screen grab of the ad but Trustpilot doesn't allow it.
Update. I have sent the screengrab, but also the following email.
Following my Trustpilot review I attach the ad, which I accessed 20.10.21 stating Simplecite offers a permanent free service. I have heard your excuse that you have changed policies, but surely you must know that to go from Free to £140 per year is deeply unreasonable. You do not make it clear in large type on your home page that Simplecite is now expensive. Plus there are many 3rd party sites that are still advertising you as free, when you are not. You could have included a very low fee of £10 per year for long-standing free sites. As it stands, your platform is not that desirable to justify the high price.
It is disrespectful to your customers to force them to paying £140 per year, minimum, or them having to reconstruct a free website elsewhere.

Margaret Macdonald

I too had the free version of SimpleSite. Recently I was sent an email stating that it was going to expire, but I could try PRO for 1.00 a month for 3 months.
Sounded like a good deal, until I checked my bank account. No where did they state it was going to cost 39.95 for 3 months plus the international credit card fee they charged as well of .32. The 1.00 was there as well as another .01 fee for using a cc internationally.
Thanks for your transparent, honest solicitation of your website. I am expecting a refund and I have also canceled and deleted my web page.

Very disappointed with Simplesite. Signed up for the free plan, which had very basic options but was sufficient for my needs.
They emailed me out of the blue stating "We are stopping your free service – but you are welcome to continue as PRO user." and "We are doing this to be able to continue development and support of Simplesite..."
So it's only "free" for a limited period? No thanks, that's not what I signed up for. I have since found an alternative service provider that is genuinely free, and closed my Simplesite account

Its a good site but without a subscriber function. How can I build an audience if they can't subscribe?

Im reading these good reviews but I haven't had the same experience. I came to Simplesite from Godaddy and I have regretted it. Maybe Simplesite is good but I hadnt had the chance to experience it because Ive had my website for four months now and no one has helped me get my domain name. I hate that Im unable to talk to a love agent as I can on Godaddy that walks me through problems. I have to wait days for an email that doesnt help when I hit retrieve and never get the email prompt to get my domain. I hadnt even presented this website to my customers in almost four months because I've been waiting for my domain. I'm highly aggravated and I am paid up for the next 94 days. The only reason I changed from godaddy was because I was sharing a website with a business partner but wanted my own and thought Id give Simplesite a try. Smh

Simple site is exactly what it is, simple site and is easy to use. I guess there are some limitations for experienced web designers , but for a simple site for me it is OK.

The features are all cool and easy to set up and use though I was not able to see the full picture because I was on a free subscription mode, but I would say that it would have been a lot better if I took the plan or something. The overall experience was great especially for beginners.

This was just what I needed. I wanted something simple and easy to use. It was very straightforward. I had some trouble paying but customer service is legit and helping me right now. This is great for beginners who want something easy to make, but still really good quality.
