Recently purchase the Sionyx Night Vision camera on my new offshore boat and had it connected to my Garmin 8612xsv screens. When I turned on the camera and viewed through the Garmin screens, the view was blurry. I thought something must be wrong. I contacted Sionyx tech support and the response was:

"...this looks like a normal Nightwave with a limitation from the Garmin display,"

-vs-
Garmin 8612sxv resolution: 1920x1080p digital

This is not a limitation of the Garmin screens, Its the Sionyx Night Vision camera. I read many reviews, watched many YouTube channels discussion on the camera only to discover the true story and limitation of the this camera is not being told.
I'm not a display guru but after spending upwards of $2,700 dollars for the camera and the install, very disappointed customer!!!

If you are attempting to plug this camera into any modern digital display 12 inches or greater on your boat you're going to be very upset with the results.

STAY CLEAR OF THIS ANALOG ANTQUATED PRODUCT!

Having never tried Digital night vision i was apprehensive. I saw the OPSIN and immediately got excited. I ordered and have been extremely pleased in my 100hrs of operating the system. I will continued to do business

My biggest complaints are the eye relief and focussing.. they need to improve some user friendly options such as the duty involved weaver rail mount that needs to be removed to charge unit. IR light could be focusable as well as the units focusability. 200 meters with clarity would be great. But for the price an all the options this pro can do is to be sure a great unit! Recommend !

The product was delivered as ordered and well packaged.

The aurora Camera I ordered does not read any of the SD cards I’ve bought for it.Nor am I able to find the device via the app

Great product, quick shipping and knowledgeable staff. Installing the unit on our Fountain for our family trip to the Dry Tortugas/Fort Jefferson. It is a much needed upgrade for night time/overnight trips like this one.

I go out on the water at night most of my trips and the Nightwave is a game changer for me.

Setting it up I see it only seems to work for left eye set up , wondering if one can get the arm bracket for right eye set up. Unless it’s the hielmut hinge quality preventing me from rotating coupler to accommodate right eye set up ? Thanks from a newbie

The Sionyx Nightwave camera is an absolute game-changer! The picture comes in crisp with low-to-no light while running offshore or through the intracoastal. Connecting the camera to my phone is a breeze- I'm looking forward to permanently installing the unit on my boat. You truly can't beat the quality of this product at this price point.

Slow shipping, slow responses from customer service and a very poorly represented product.

The purchase process was straight forward and easy. The payment process was quick and secure. The shipping was quick. the packaging was secure.The product is solid, sturdy, tactile, easy functions and capable. I'm still waiting for the extra battery pack that was promised with the purchase. I am told it takes 6-8 weeks for the extra battery pack to be delivered. however, overall ecperice is excellent.

I was not happy with the purchase. I emailed 3 different times to get a return label or to have someone communicate back to me but no one emailed nor called me back.

Missing package 2 and missing replacement package.

This product brings boating night vision to many more boaters. Easy to install and use at a reasonable cost! Will greatly enhance my safety on the water.

Ok so first off true night vision? No, will you get green eye using it? Also no, however a swivel mount is essential as you will get black eye, how long that takes depends on how high the brightness has been tuned. I'm hoping to purchase a few more battery packs, as the charge time is unclear, and battery life out of the box is likely not 8hrs, if charging for 5 hours(out the box) doesn't charge the battery to full. In complete darkness this device is extremely risky, and should not be used, stick to your PVS14s, however if a (IR or otherwise) illuminator can be used safely I highly recommend this device.
Rifle mounted this device performs admirably, in conjunction with a zeroed PEQ15 it can replace your day sight and will basically be a laser, however again the context is LUME, no lume you have to use your flood or another light source, generally speaking great device, however there are shortcomings, however this device is great fun, and I look forward to teaching about it this weekend. I think this is a great hunting tool, as long as it's paired with a IR laser and flood.
The key issue I'm having is mounting options and charge time, the mounting process to helmet isn't clear and I've sent an email, hope to hear from them soon.
I bought this for personal use, I bought it to product test and introduce it to other service members, and teach about this specific product at my unit, I am in the military, and I am in no way endorsed or affiliated with Sionyx.
