Great service from Sixt. They seemed to be the only rentals available from Reus Airport at the time . Even though they havent got an office a call the day before from them clarified collection details and location. Their Rep was their on time and the whole process was simple and efficient. A bit more expensive than some other rentals but great service

I am extremely frustrated with my experience at SIXT.
I had fully prepaid and booked this reservation 2 months in advance, yet on the day of pick-up in Nuremberg, we were told for the first time that the car could not be driven into Budapest — something that was never disclosed anywhere in the booking, emails, or prior communication. If we had known, we would never have booked this.
We were then refused the vehicle entirely, with no alternative and no real help, and simply told to contact customer service ourselves. Our entire trip depended on this booking.
With no support, we had to arrange a last-minute train to Munich, causing stress, delays, and extra costs. At the Munich branch, we were forced into a walk-in booking, paying €2,462 for 4 days for a Volvo XC60 — compared to €1,830 for 10 days originally. The financial loss is obvious.
Customer service provided no meaningful assistance.
Absolutely unacceptable — I would not trust SIXT for important travel plans.

The worst rental company in the UK! Do not rent from them since they are proper scammers! They want to charge me £349 to refuel the tank of a Peugeout and when I ask for a breakdown of the liters and the price they refuse to do so. £349 to refuel a tank that shouldnt be more than £100 is insane! Their service is horrible too and at the airport when I picked the car up, the guy tried to sell me another car which was more expensive because my booked car was at another terminal! Avoid this company at all costs!

Formal Complaint and Notice of Potential Legal Action – Sixt Canary Wharf
Dear Sir or Madam,
I am writing to formally complain about a serious incident at your Sixt Canary Wharf branch and to put you on notice that I am considering further action.
I had a confirmed reservation and received prior confirmation to pick up the vehicle. However, upon arrival, your staff refused to honour the booking and instead attempted to impose additional conditions and charges that were neither disclosed on your website nor communicated at the time of booking.
During the interaction:
* I was informed of a supposed “24-hour requirement” that was never stated in the booking terms
* Your staff repeatedly attempted to pressure us into paying additional fees without clear or consistent justification
* The interaction became confrontational due to the unprofessional conduct of your staff
* Ultimately, I was refused service entirely, despite holding a valid confirmed reservation
This conduct represents a failure to honour a confirmed contract, a lack of transparency in your terms, and unacceptable customer service.
For the avoidance of doubt, I have retained a complete audio recording of the entire interaction, which clearly documents the statements made by your staff and the manner in which this situation was handled. This evidence will be relied upon if this matter is escalated.
As a direct result of your refusal to provide the reserved vehicle, my travel plans were significantly disrupted, causing considerable inconvenience and financial loss.
I now require:
1. A full written explanation as to why my confirmed reservation was not honoured
2. A formal apology for the treatment I received
3. Appropriate compensation for the disruption and losses caused
If I do not receive a satisfactory response, I will proceed with escalation, including formal complaints to the relevant UK consumer protection bodies and, if necessary, pursuing legal remedies.
I expect a prompt and substantive response.

The end to end process from booking to…
The end to end process from booking to returning the vehicle was excellent. Friendly welcome at Schiphol Airport by Fleur, even offered coffee and we could pick the vehicle we wanted. Car was immaculate and only 7k km on the clock. Easy pickup and exit from airport and even easier return. Inspection on return was completed by another friendly member of staff and no issues. Definitely use Sixt again!

NEVER RENT FROM SIXT
NEVER RENT FROM SIXT. I never write reviews but feel I have no choice but to warn people never to rent from this company. I had an issue with a minor accident — flat tire and damaged rim. I simply trying to follow up to file a claim wiht my ow insurance provider, I had to spend countless hours on the phone and by email trying to accurate invoices, damage and accident reports. I was switched from department to department w no one able to resolve minor issues such as sending me a copy of the accident report. Also, they made multiple, incorrect charges to my account, which I also had to spend an inordinate amount of time solving between my bank and them. Was one of the worst experiences I have ever had with a service provider. A company with absolutely no care whatsoever towards it customers.
