Sucralose is the most suitable candidate for several reasons:
It is only one molecular distinct from natural sugar while being 200x sweeter
Unlike sugar it does not cause glycation
It is 0 calories
It has the longest safety record of any artificial sweetener
It passes out of the body 85% chemically unchanged
The daily safe limit of sucralose according to the FDA is 4g, we use 0.002g per daily dose
It maintains a stable flavour profile over the lifetime of the product and does not have a bitter after taste
For these reasons, it is the optimal artificial sweetener for our product. We have looked into this several times, and we always arrive at this conclusion - there is nothing else out there that is as suitable.
