Very much regret using this company.
my order with this "building company" was in Summer of 2024. I have had to edit the review NUMEROUS times since then as Skylofts keep requesting the review to be removed - desptie being 100% factual and true. Unfortuneltey I as the customer am at the disadvantage here as the true horror of experiences will not ever be published - and No, Skylofts, it was not due to how I engaged with you.
So, prospective customers, here is the watered down version:
I regret choosing this company due to the many difficulties I experienced throughout the project with the builders, communication, post build issues, rudeness, agressiveness. Although they have many positive reviews, my experience did not reflect anywhere near that, and I feel it’s important to make this known so others can make an informed decision.
Over the course of the year, I faced numerous issues with the build quality, communication, and how problems were handled. Despite repeatedly raising concerns with the company, many of the issues took a long time to resolve or were not addressed in a way anyone would find satisfactory.
Several aspects of the work required correction, and I ultimately had to bring in an independent professional to fix leaks and other problems that occurred during the installation. Skylofts unfortunelty tried in less than honest means to absolve responsibility and only under threat of legal action was i able to recoup some of the costs to correct their poor quality work.
This resulted in additional costs and considerable stress. I began formal proceedings to recover some of these expenses.
I was surprised to learn during the sales cycle that certain finishing elements, such as tiling and sealant for the ensuite, were not included as part of their service. In hindsight, this was a key factor that contributed to disputes about responsibility for the issues they caused
.
Based on my personal experience, I would encourage prospective customers to carefully review what is and isn’t included in the contract and to seek clarity on how the company handles aftercare, problem resolution, and workmanship guarantees in a timely fashion. As their treatment of me was severely unprossional and lacking. While others may have positive experiences, mine was unfortunately very challenging, and I would advise future clients to proceed with caution.
My closing statement and opinion are Skylofts are NOT worth the premium they charge.
