Ordered a sign in November 23

Ordered a sign in November 23, still not arrived. I had written it off and got an email from the same company today asking me to order to avoid price increases. I did initially speak to the owner who advised he had returned from holiday and was catching up. Some weeks later I contacted them again and was told it must have gone astray and would resend. However nothing arrived, I’m still signless.

Amazing quality, support and packaging

Prior to ordering my signs from Slatesign I did look at Trustpilot and was put off by the negative reviews. Despite this, I placed my order as I was still attracted to the product images and descriptions on their website. Thankfully my experience was the complete opposite of what the reviews here say which leaves me to wonder who leaves such reviews or if only those who have a negative experience bother to leave reviews. I orderd 4 slate signs, 1 with posts, 2 medium and 1 large. They arrived really well packaged and are stunning in design, exactly as I hoped. I received excellent customer service from Lucy throughout, to the point where she redid my design 3 times as I changed things and also implemented exact measurements for the fixings on the large sign that was going onto a preset mounting frame. All in all, excellent product, great packaging and superb customer support. Yes, it took a few weeks to arrive but Lucy informed me of that in advance and just in case everyone has forgotten there is an unprecedented global pandemic going on and supply chains around the world are massively impacted so just give these guys and other small businesses a break...

What a joke of a company

What a joke of a company. I ordered a sign on 4th December. After not even receiving a confirmation e mail (although the money was taken out of my bank immediately) I rang and rang this company. Their phone is disconnected after one ring. Managed to get a confirmation e mail on 11 December with invoice and stating that all orders before 5th December would be dispatched in time for Christmas. I relaxed until 20th December when I tried and tried to get hold of them again, Eventually received e mail today stating that my order was on production list for after Christmas! Thanks you (not) for letting me know on Saturday 22nd Dec when it is now far too late for me to re-order with another company.

Poor delivery, poor quality, poor customer service

Dreadful company. Similar to the experience of everyone else who has reviewed this company our order was massively late. This was especially sad as my wife had placed the order in plenty of time as it was to be a surprise birthday gift for me. No surprise that it was late!!! The reason given was technical issues in the production.
When the sign eventually arrived the ‘enamel’ in the engraving was bubbled over the majority of the name. Very poor quality. When my wife emailed them, Lucy in customer services said that it is normal for this to happen.... no it doesn’t Lucy!
When I rang them today I was confronted with a very blunt almost rude attitude.
Summing it all up, slatesigns.co.uk have not got a lot going for them. Poor delivery, poor product quality, poor customer service and they are not cheap !!

Massively late delivery, zero customer service, bitter owner reporting people like me for honestly reviewing them

***REVIEW UPDATED DUE TO BEING REPORTED BY A VERY BITTER COMPANY OWNER WHO I NOW CAN'T NAME BECAUSE TRUSTPILOT LAUGHABLY DON'T ALLOW YOU TO IDENTIFY ANYONE AT THE COMPANY***

An all round appalling experience in ordering a slate sign for a property I own - delivery massively late and with no explanation let alone apology, emails and phone calls both go unanswered. Take my word for it, try their phone number before you order and you'll see it ALWAYS goes straight to voicemail. I've just edited this review as the owner had the audacity to report my review! Laughable.

As others have alluded to in reviews here, the website clearly states 'next day dispatch on orders before 3pm'. I ordered on Saturday 2nd April and only received my sign yesterday, 14th April. The order was dispatched on 11th April, so hardly a next day dispatch.

I frequently tried to call, managed to speak to the owner once at an early stage of the sign being created, but thereafter just kept getting voicemail on the mobile number provided, which is the only contact phone number listed on the site. In addition, it's totally laughable that when the proof was sent through, it asks you as the purchaser to reply within 2 hours if there is anything wrong with it, and that if there is no reply within this timeframe manufacturing will begin per the proof sent through. This is just ridiculous given that I have waited over 24 hours between sending an email to enquire rightfully as to where my order is, and actually getting any reply.

At no point have I received any discount, apology or explanation as to why anything has taken longer. I have several emails all stating days that the owner promised that the slate sign would be sent out. I was most recently told that it would be sent out on Friday 8th April. Having asked 4 times for the name of the courier so I could check whether they had a parcel in the system (as by this point I clearly was not to trust this gentleman) he sent an email stating the courier was myHermes and an associated tracking number. However, the tracking number wasn't live, when I emailed the owner yet again he asked me to 'wait for the system to update'. It was quite clearly the case in reality that the parcel hadn't yet been sent - he was only able to provide a tracking number because the tracking numbers for myHermes are generated when the sender pays for the postage, it has nothing to do with the date of postage itself. When I finally received the package yesterday the ultimate laughable element is that the printed postage label generated from the company using myHermes' website states clearly 'your parcel will be collected on 11 April' so quite obviously dispelling his utter lies that it went on Friday.

Every email, in fact, totally glossed over and failed to answer most of the questions I asked, all I'd ever receive from Slatesign would be a 1 line answer or sentence which did little more than humour the principle of a reply.

The director of the company is disqualified so is explicitly not allowed to have any involvement in the running of the business until their period of disqualification expires. Despite this, they continues to trade albeit not necessarily under the same company name. Being disqualified as a company director explicitly prohibits you from having anything to do with the running of a company without the express prior written consent of a court. I very much doubt somehow that he has this.

In the meantime, I've reported the appalling lack of service and outright provable lies to Cardiff Trading Standards, and have reported the owner to the Insolvency Service for continuing to act in the capacity he does whilst disqualified as a director. I will shortly be setting up a website listing all my correspondence with them to show prospective customers what they can expect. It's absolutely crazy to think that he has managed to get away with this for so long. A total idiot and I really hope people stay well away from this individual and anything resembling a company they associate with.

Ordered my sign in December - still not here in April!!!

Ordered and paid for a next day delivery service for an expensive house sign and after checking progress a couple of times and being told it would be sent out that week, I am still waiting 4 months later. Definitely do not use this Company if you want a sign the same year that you order one

Terrible service

They claim next day dispatch on their site - two weeks after ordering, mine hasn't arrived. I ordered it for a birthday present, which is now late, and I even mentioned the date I needed it in an email to them and they said that was fine. They haven't bothered answering my last three emails asking about it, and haven't even offered to refund the deliver charge. Go somewhere else!

false advertising, poor communication

advertised next day dispatch. 9 days after ordering, had not received anything. had to chase up first the status (not dispatched), then again to find out the reason for delay (backlogged with other orders), and again for next steps (sign would ship the next week!). If they knew there was a backlog, and 2+wk delay, would have been nice to inform their customers.

only thing nice was a fairly prompt refund.

POOR

I often give house signs as gifts, in the past l have been met with delight. Not this time, almost 6 months to get a result, which is still not right. l gave the company every chance to make good, but no it has not changed. lt was a simple order this time No 1 cant get much wrong with 1? Yes you can, when sign first arrived in good time for my daughters birthday, l noticed a slight fault in paint, thought it would not be seen on wall, put it away before the date needed got it out a month later and paint really bad.First company told me it wasn't theirs! However l received sign yesterday 11days too late for birthday still the same! Since then l have ordered a large sign from another company beautiful real quality and on time.
