Terrible After-Sales Support and Ignored Tribunal Order

I want to share my experience with Sleek Cars so other buyers are aware of their complete lack of care, support, and communication.

My vehicle had a suspected blown head gasket causing coolant loss and overheating, which was confirmed as the reason for the fault. Even after a Disputes Tribunal ordered Sleek Cars to uplift my car, repair the head gasket, and return it at their cost, they ignored the order and made their own arrangements without my consent.

They chose to drive the vehicle hundreds of kilometers from Auckland to Porirua instead of towing it, despite the Tribunal specifying delivery “at their cost.” This added unnecessary mileage, fuel usage, and wear & tear, none of which was accounted for or approved by me. I had to track the odometer, fuel levels, and communicate repeatedly just to ensure the vehicle was returned safely.

Even after the car was returned, Sleek refused to reimburse reasonable costs, such as fuel, mileage, or nominal wear & tear, and did not provide proper documentation from the mechanic detailing what work was actually completed. Their after-sales support is lazy, unprofessional, and dismissive, leaving the customer to deal with all the consequences of their poor planning.

If you are considering buying from Sleek Cars, be aware that their service post-sale is unreliable, and you may be left chasing them to uphold even basic obligations, including ensuring the actual repair work is done properly.
