Enjoyable evening but no matches.
I have used Slow Dating twice this year and although it was a good evening out which I enjoyed (Pippa who was running the Winchester event is very pleasant and put me at ease) I didn't get any matches either times even though I did have stuff in common with the dates. Ok you only have 4 mins but it would be nice to at least go for a coffee with someone a few days later. Iam wondering if when it comes to the women they dont use the event to find a date but just to meet new people and chat for a few hours. I will continue to use Slow Dating as trying to date online is a waste of time.

A good experience overall
The experience was out of my comfort zone however Shane (Basingstoke) made me feel welcome and put the group at ease.
As there was a few no shows the number system didn't quite work. They could have written the numbers on the name tags after the attendees showed to make it smoother.

Shane was a great host
Shane was a great host, the turnout wasn't great and he did his best to hold on as long as possible to try and get a few more people. Shane was really good at interacting with everyone though and making it all very inclusive. Really think that a reminder email (or a text would be even better) should have gone out to anyone booked, as the last communication I had was over a month before the event. Thats plenty of time for most people to forget, so a reminder text the day before I think is really essential. Only 5 girls turned up. In all honesty, I'm not paying £20 to meet 5 girls at a speed dating event. The numbers need to be as close to even guys/girls as possible, and minimum 10 of each to make it anywhere near worth the pricetag. I'm sure this can be solved with better communication to people who have booked, and better marketing to get more girls! Online, in real life, practically anywhere, its hard to imagine how there is roughly 50% of the population being women, but when it comes to the dating scene, the women just don't exist...anywhere... if I was a conspiracy theorist, I'd be blaming aliens by this point, because it just doesn't add up! I'm not expecting any matches, but still, nice to meet new people, and I would go again IF they can get better numbers of attendees!

We find it frustrating too when we receive 'No-Shows' as we want our events to have even numbers of individuals, however this is something that is completely our of our control when people choose not to attend!
