Poor service and lack of communication.
Features frequently do not work and are slow to be resolved, if at all.
We are encouraged to raise tickets for issues, which are then closed without resolution.

Do not use this platform, go with one that works.

Excellent and fast service.

Not working well consistently enough and wastes my time too often. You now have to sign up for separate support when things go wrong, which is frequently. Shoddy resource, would be better off using hard copy portfolio.

What can I say. I have experience in using other e-Portfolios, such as Onefile. I can say without bias, or any agenda that Smart assessor is awful. Basically its an excel spread sheet with some colour. As a user i find it very difficult to use, as it has no way to alter the background colours, if like me and you are profoundly dyslexic its a nightmare. There are far too many issues to go into. The system is slow outdated and sorry to say not fit for purpose. The only thing managers look at it's a lot cheaper that the other real market leader, which works.

I have been using computers and all kind of apps since the 90s. I learnt how to use different software for different purposes, like Maple, Splus, Fortran 90, Visual basic... Lots of them through my uni years and also the different versions of the usual Office suite. I even learnt to write the code for websites back when we had to learn to use HTML without help (like using Dreamweaver or other software).
Well, Smart assessor is, by far, the worst software ever. You can't guess where to find what you are supposed to do. You upload documents that your assessors can't find anywhere and you end up having to send them by email. There are dozens of menus inside other menus. The mobile app doesn't have any resemblance to the site and you can't even guess what they have in common.
I am considering to just cancel my QCF so I don't have to deal with that site anymore.

Where to start with this review? When I was 18 I brokey elbow, it was agony and the only time I've screamed with pain, it took months to heal and i still at the age of 43 get the odd twinge of pain, well, using the smart assessor app/website thing is about as painful as breaking my elbow, it is a total mess and you're lucky if you can find what you're actually looking for, I really do wish my QCF assessor would use a different site.

It's poorly made, nothing works right and I think that the designer should be sent back in time to the late 90s when a website like this would be thought of as cutting edge, very poor effort.

It is not user friendly, and very hard on the eyes, just by looking at the way it is mapped out, it is utterly confusing. Unfortunately we have been told it is here to stay so I better get used to it.

Shame I can’t give Zero stars, over complicated, very soon out of date, you should be with your students not trying to satisfy this information beast !
Management: wake up and smell the coffee, it’s never going to give you accurate results, crashed again, whoops.

Smart Assessor has totally complicated a straight forward admin task into a bureaucratic nightmare, it was introduced in my place of work by managers for managers with no regard for the staff who had to use it and input the data so that the managers could pull stats.
The data managers need can be supplied on simple spread sheets with evidence for reviews carried out with learners in hardcopy in the work place, the rest of the system is disliked by learners, employers and Staff
New systems are welcomed if they work for the user not the other way around. Its appalling steer well clear is my advice.

I use SA daily through my work. EVERYDAY they system goes down or has a problem, you would not believe the problems this cause, not matter how long it is for. It can be a number of minuets or a full day. They never seem to be able to get it right.

I am totally frustrated today, as my files have gone to the IQA, to be told that they were not mapped in or signed off, I checked this file TWICE before sending it!

I have just gone onto a learners SA to find that their work has been unmapped and unsigned off!

This system is a waste of time, especially my time!

Over the past year, this system regularly has an outage impacting all users and has become unreliable

Great material and teaching, even done over Zoom. This was my first remote course and I did not know what to expect. The course was very interactive and enjoyable. I found the course easy to understand and also explanations very good. Jon Briscoe is an exceptional trainer, made me feel relax and understood my needs, great man, and would definitely recommend others to choose Jon as an assessor, as he is enthusiastic and very engaging. This is the support I have needed for so long. Super amazing training, after practicing in the office all my learnings I feel more confident.

Off to a bad start however once made aware of the reasons behind some of their indirect responses (safeguarding) I completely understood. The smart assessor team were amazing at dealing with my technical issue , putting in the time to review and resolve the issues and delegating the most knowledgeable and respectable staff within their team to work with my and resolve the issue. Really fantastic team thankyou.

As a skeptic of technology and someone who desires as much privacy from technology as possible, one room for improvement would be for the app to work without having to allow microphone access.
