Unfortunately the product didn't arrive in time for my trip to Scotland so cannot comment on how effective it would have been. From my research this looked like the best midgie deterrent on the market so I'm sure it would have worked very well.

Headnet arrived very fast
Headnet arrived very fast. It smelt a bit funny so I put it in a wash bag and gace it a wash. I bought this headnet because the pollen is so bad this year and I am going to give it a test run to see if I can do just ten minutes gardening occasionally. If it works I will buy another and let you know!

Excellent service: ordered (very) late Friday, shipment confirmed Monday morning, received items Tuesday. If Smidge is as effective in protecting against midges and other biting insects as the company is in delivering their products we should have a bite-free trip to Scotland!

Doesn't stop them swarming all around you.
When I used this it might have stopped me getting some bites but they still swarmed all around me and crawled all over my skin and hair. They bit me on my eyelids and nostrils. I was a bit suspicious when Smidge only offer a refund for 30 days IF YOU HAVE NOT USED THE PRODUCT. This year I'm going to try something else.

Hi Ken. We are sorry to hear of your experience. No repellent is able to keep midges or mosquitoes away from your vicinity (especially when in high numbers), they are designed to prevent bites. This means some may still be able to land on you but won’t bite. As for nostrils and eyelids, if repellent was applied to these areas then there would be no bites but we recommend you keep repellents away from your eyes and nostrils for obvious reasons. We don’t usually accept returns if the product is used, this is standard for this kind of product. I hope you’ll give Smidge another chance as it is scientifically proven to work and recommended by the WHO and PHE amongst others.
