Incredibly expensive and careless service
I am writing to express my profound dissatisfaction with the Invisalign treatment I have received at this clinic, for which I have paid over £4,400. Unfortunately, the entire experience has left me feeling both frustrated and misled. Despite being 13 months into the treatment, it remains ongoing, and due to what I can only describe as sheer incompetence, my progress has actually regressed by several months.
Throughout these 13 months, I have endured a series of setbacks, including frequent cancellations and disorganization. Of these 13 months, only 9 were spent wearing aligners, with the remaining time wasted due to the dentist's sudden holidays, personal issues, or apparent inconvenience in scheduling appointments. I was dismayed to learn that, as the dentist’s last client at this clinic, I often found myself at the mercy of his shifting priorities, as he was more focused on setting up his own practice elsewhere.
What exacerbates my frustration is the fact that appointment cancellations were often communicated to me on the very day of the scheduled appointment, indicating a complete lack of foresight and organization on the clinic’s part.
During the initial consultation last summer, I was advised to opt for the most expensive treatment due to the substantial work my teeth required. However, after the first set of aligners, the dentist inexplicably suggested halting the treatment, despite my teeth still needing significant alignment. I insisted on continuing, only to later discover—through contacting the main centre—that the dentist had already ceased working at this clinic and I was his last client. It became clear that his eagerness to conclude my treatment prematurely was driven by his desire to move on to his new practice in Essex.
After completing the first set of refinement aligners, I was still dissatisfied with an overbite issue and noticeable asymmetry in my teeth. The dentist, however, attempted to dissuade me from ordering another set of refinement aligners, despite the fact that I had been assured during the initial consultation that multiple refinements would be necessary. To my dismay, after removing all attachments, he informed me that the intraoral scanning machine was broken and proceeded to use outdated dental impression materials. His careless handling of this process resulted in the scan being rejected by Invisalign, a fact I was again only informed of on the day of the appointment, which was subsequently cancelled.
As a result, I have now spent two weeks without aligners, leading to a regression in the alignment of my teeth. Thankfully, my dentist has since changed, and a new scan has been taken. However, I am now facing an additional three-week wait for the new aligners to arrive, meaning I will have gone five weeks without wearing the correct aligners, undoing months of prior work.
This entire experience has been deeply disappointing, and I feel that the treatment I have received is far below the standard one should expect after making such a significant financial investment.
