I would prefer a no star rating…

I would prefer a no star rating actually! Extremely disappointing company to order from. I have emailed for an order update 6 times and not received a single response to date. It still says 'in production'. The delivery times are definitely wayyy out from what they advertise now meaning I will not have delivery for Christmas! Very poor customer service with little means available to be able to contact them through. Funnily enough however they sent out an ezine that says they will not be answering calls until the new year. Thanks Emily Hippo!!

Ordered two photo books on the 4th December and they won’t be here for Christmas!!!

Ordered two photo books on the 4th December with a promise that they would be here for Christmas. Just done the online chat and when I asked could she confirm that they would be here for Christmas was told to have a nice day and she terminated the chat. I now have two go and find two new gifts. Totally unacceptable.
If your machines break please have the courtesy to contact your customers. If I had known I could have made other arrangements for suitable presents. Instead now I either have to go shopping or not give presents that’s smiley hippo, this hippo isn’t smiling

The time scales quoted for delivery on…

The time scales quoted for delivery on the website are total rubbish and previous customers are correct about time scales and customer service. However having used Smiley Hippo for many photo books the quality when they do arrive is excellent and worth the wait. Having tried some other company's, who's product when they arrived on time was such poor quality we threw them away I will continue to use Smiley Hippo and wait.

Zero stars would be more appropriate. The worst company I have EVER EVER EVER dealt with. One day short of two months to supply two photo books. After numerous emails, unanswered phone calls, and ridiculous excuses.

Total rubbish!

Same review as everyone else. Ordered 2 calender's in good time as Christmas presents - still in production no answer to my emails or calls. This is the worse service ever don't know if I will ever get them Avoid at all costs..

Awful customer service and no product

I wish so much that I had checked Trustpilot before ordering through this company. Everything the negative reviews say are accurate. This company do not stick to the delivery times, they send generic emails back to you when you query things, they have now shut down their phone lines until after Christmas (not that anyone ever answered anyway) and my product is apparently still in production 20 days after ordering. My gift was for a secret santa and so I ended up having to buy another gift so they had something. I ordered in plenty of time and I am so very disappointed in every experience I have had with this company. Do not order with them, find someone else. Just like me and lots of other people, you will most likely regret it if you don't.

AVOID this company at all costs!

AVOID this company at all costs!! I catch believe WOWCHER are advertising this rubbish company! I placed an order back in October and spent so much time and effort into designing it all. Its now end of December and I still have not received anything. Smiley hippo has rubbish customer service and have promised me a delivery in the same several times and have blamed a backlog for delays. Not worth the hassle, they chat so much crap and keep you waiting. I’m now in the process of requesting a full refund from wowcher.

Complete fiasco - AVOID

Ordered photo books, as Christmas presents, back in October. Spent hours putting them together, on the site’s frankly horrible design software. My card was charged, and delivery was supposed to take 10 days. We are now one week from Christmas, and still waiting.
They do not answer emails. On the one occasion we got through on the phone, a technical fault was blamed, and our books were promised to arrive next week. This was a lie.
We’ve been (charitably) assuming that the business is collapsing, and they're struggling for cash and resources to get the orders out. However, we’ve just had an email from them, touting for more business, and explaining that they will not be answering phones, because they’re trying to get all the Christmas orders out “but might not manage it”.
It appears two entire months, is just not long enough, for a photo book company, to fulfill an order for photo books!
These people are getting reported to trading standards, in the new year. In the meantime, I recommend using ANYONE else!

Terrible service, 0 stars.

Ordered 2 albums in early October, no response to our emails asking where they are. We had same problem with this company earlier this year. Terrible service which is a shame as the product is good. Will not be using them again. Would suggest others avoid also.

Just another let down customer!

Just another let down customer. Purchased via Wowcher. Ordered in plenty of time for Christmas. Received email today to let me know it won't be here, but offered £10 off my next purchase - Don't think so mate. Wowcher don't seem to care either. This company are not answering phones and not replying to email. What a waste of time and money. Hopefully they will be closed down soon with this much bad press.

Shocking! Please avoid.

I have just read the previous reviews and agree with them all. My story is almost identical to the ones mentioned. I ordered two photo books on 29th Nov and have still not received them. I wish I had read reviews before I spent days making up the photo books and then purchasing them. Like many the books were part of Christmas gifts and we've been left disappointed. I received a 'goodwill' gesture of £10 off my next purchase! I'll definitely not be using them ever again. It does sound like a scam and very poor set up. I am also disappointed that Wowcher are still selling deals for calendars with 'guaranteed Christmas delivery' still advertised. I'll be contacting Wowcher as well. So annoyed and disappointed that this happens, especially at this time of year!

TWO MONTHS and still no photobook - cowboys, a sham, absolute disgraceful company that is bordering on fraudulent.

On purchasing a photobook via Wowcher I ordered the item with Smiley Hippo on 18 October, with an advised 7-9 working day delivery. Two months (yes 2 full calendar months) later and I am still to receive the item or a refund.

To add insult to injury the company will not answer the phone, don't return any calls, do not respond to emails - other than one in early Nov which was a standard holding email (so I know the mailbox is receiving emails), oh and they sign for but don't respond to recorded delivery letters. Given the latter two, I'm surmising there is someone at the premises and they haven't simply done a runner to the Bahamas with all the money from our orders!

I have requested updates, advised I needed the item by a specific date, also advised if not received by that date I wished to cancel the order. When the delivery wasn't met I contacted them advising I was cancelling the order and required a full refund by a specific date, also sending a Paypal refund request. Unsurprising the date has now passed and still nothing from the company and the order status remains as 'in production'.

Yes you can argue for less than £20 what would you expect, but it is the principle and the frustration caused. Especially given the time invested in producing a photobook and I'd imagine many, like me, are purchasing this personalised item for a gift.

I beg you please do not go near this company unless you want frustration and to be let down! The owners and all associated with this company should be ashamed of themselves.

Why did I not read this first ordered…avoid

Why did I not read this first ordered with a Wowcher code , 4 weeks ago never heard since emails bounce back basically taking people’s money and hiding I bought through Wowcher I have contacted them who will hopefully refund as it looks like it’s one big scam avoid

as previous posts indicate, if I could give 0 stars I would.
I purchased 3 wowcher codes to make personalised calanders for Christmas. only 2 of the codes would work. I contacted smiley hippo via email and phone with no luck! 3 weeks on still no calanders that I managed to pay for and order WITH DELIVERY ON TOP! still no response with regards to the non working voucher code. this company is a joke! AVOID!!!

Bad is generous for this company.

Wish I could click on a star saying 'absolutely useless' company.
Ordered a calender for a present and it's been over 6 weeks and still not received.
Only one reply to several emails with a poor excuse about them struggling and a promise that things were now in progress. That was a month ago.
Do not bother with this useless company.
