AVOID AT ALL COSTS - SB Electrical…
This guide recommended SB Electrical (Sean Berry) who provided me with a quote and got me to pay a deposit to book in the work, after 3 weeks of missing appointments that were confirmed the previous night and even the same day Mr Berry has now claimed the company has gone bust and has not repaid the deposit. I also ascertained that the contractor was not in fact MCS certified and was still going through the inspections with Napit which were subsequently failed. Solar Guide is a disgrace for not checking out the contractors they are recommending and I will be following this up via my solicitors

Basically, a waste of my time!
I have been researching storage batteries and, I presume, as a result have been targetted by online advertising. One from Solar Guide said it would find me three quotes, so I completed the online application on 12 Feb. They quickly contacted me by phone requesting lots of details about our area and our solar array. Shortly afterwards they said I would be contacted by a company called First4Solar. That is the only firm that they have found to give a quote. First4Solar did contact me and we spoke over the phone discussing possible battery storage options. They sounded knowledgeable and promised to email me quotes for various options but that was on the 15 February and I have still not had a quote from them.
Basically, both Solar Guide and First4Solar have been a waste of my time. I have now Googled local suppliers of solar batteries and found three quotes for myself. You would probably get a better result doing the same.
Beware of spam emails after
Wanted a quote and filled in my details. Now receiving loads of email spam straight after submitting the form.

Three companies responded well to my request
Three companies responded to my request through Solar Guide. All within the specified time. Each company was professional, did what they said they would do and provided quotations against the requirement. This approach took the hard work out of finding a solar panel supplier.

Solar Guide did exactly what they said they would do, within half a day three companies had contacted me and I had arranged three site surveys.
Previous companies who said they would do this either did not provide any contacts or only a single respondent.

Vision 2030 Ltd
I only had one quote from a Solar Guide recommended company (Vision 2030 Ltd), although I had others that were not registered with Solar Guide.
After comparing the quotes and speaking to some of the companies that quoted for my PV & battery installation, I chose to use Vision 2030.
They told me at the initial visit & survey of my home that ALL works would be completed in 1 day.
I actually took 7 visits over almost 5 months from the date of the initial survey to finally getting my MCS certificate, and there is still a minor issue outstanding that in all probability will never be resolved.
I also had several missed appointments from Vison 2030. they were difficult, to say the least, to contact & deal with and it appears that they use a sub-contractor (Madola Energy) for their electrical PV installation & MCS certification, which is not made clear either by Solar Guide or by Vision 2030.
I would not recommend Vision 2030.
Solar Guide have no jurisdiction or ability to assist in resolving any issues I had with Vision 2030 and therefore, in my view, serve little or no purpose.
