Solios Watches has developed the finest solar powered and sustainable watch. If all battery operated watches were to function using a solar powered movement, we estimate we could eliminate the need to produce more than 300M batteries per year. Made from durable and sustainable materials, Solios built a powerful fashion statement to fight fast fashion and promote a responsible way to consume. From the packaging, to the movement, and the manufacturing process, everything was carefully thought to allow people to consume responsibly with style, without any compromise.

Do Not Support This Company

AVOID this company. I wanted to support a B Corp, but Solios Watches delivered delays, poor communication, and an incorrect product.

I ordered a watch and two bands on Nov 30, 2025 ($340). The order arrived Dec 9, but the mesh band was too short to use. I contacted support on Dec 23 and, after delays, was told it was due to a production change. They offered a refund or replacement, I chose a replacement assuming it would be timely.

The correct band wasn’t available until Mar 6, 2026 and didn’t ship until Apr 2. Delivery has now stalled for weeks because the company hasn’t paid the shipping charges. Multiple follow-ups have gone unanswered.

I’ve reported this to the Competition Bureau Canada due to concerns about misleading practices. I hope no one else has to go through this because it's been beyond frustrating and unacceptable.

Poor customer experience

I was ready to buy two watches but decided to start with one for my husband's birthday.
I called the customer service because I had a question about the watch I wanted and the strap that came with it, he said he'd get the information for me and call me back the same day. (Never got a call back)
Two days later (the 12) I send an email and get a reply back on the 18 once again letting me know they'll check with the rest of the team and they'll get back to me.
Two days later (the 20th) I call back refering to my email, he says "yes everything is in order, I'll send you a payment link to place your custom order and if I don't send it it's because something is not available, but if it isn't I'll call you back right away so we can find a solution"
We're the 25th. Still no email, still no call.
No good customer service FOR buying, so I can't imagine after buying.

Thankfully all of this happened so I found a better watch and company.

Nice design. Nice ideas. But disappointing.

After some research, I asked for a Solios Classic as a birthday gift three years ago. I liked the design and bought into Solios’ environmental vision. Despite seeing negative reviews, I ignored my instincts and wanted to believe the promises — including the claim of 30+ years of charging capacity.

After just three years, the watch has completely stopped charging.

Solios offers a 36-month warranty, which I fell just outside of. Reading other reviews, it’s clear I’m far from the only customer who’s had issues well before anything close to the lifespan that’s advertised. I’ve also had no response from Solios about repair options, which only adds to the frustration.

The watch cost £250. I also recommended the brand to my sister. In hindsight, we’d both have been better off donating that money directly to an environmental cause — at least it would have had a lasting impact.

If you’re considering Solios because you want to support sustainability without compromising on style, here’s my honest advice:

1. Buy one only if you see it as a way to support a green startup — but accept the real risk that the product may not last.
2. Skip the watch entirely and donate the money to a cause doing measurable environmental work.
3. Spend a bit more on a proven, reputable brand that will actually last — longevity is sustainability too.

Nice design. Nice ideas. But for a product built around longevity, three years is simply not good enough.

Nice watch and delivered on warranty

Nice watch, and it means more than the others I have which cost much more. Had a problem with the watch and received great service via email and prompt turn around time for the repair. Great company great watch.

A few things I'm not happy with

A few things I'm not happy with:
- it's a nice looking watch, but after a year of daily use, it started losing five minutes every hour. Charged it for two days, but still only lasted two more days before losing power again.
- the vegan strap is uncomfortable, digging into the wrist. The mesh strap is comfortable, but pops open unexpectedly causing the watch to fall.
- the time adjustment dial catches on sweaters causing the hands to stop advancing.
- the date window is too small to see (I'm 60).
- the date adjustment mechanism broke and won't advance manually anymore.

Avoid!

Avoid!! Husband bought it as a wedding gift for me: Solios have ruined the gift.

First strap loop broke off very quickly. Watch then stopped working. Had to send it back to Canada to be repaired which took months. Came back, still not working. They tried to claim it was now out of warranty! Argued that and they agreed a replacement, which they wouldn’t send until I sent other back. They’ll didn’t send a label, despite being chased. More months passed…

Finally arrived back today. With the same rubbish strap. Can only assume that was spite as we dared to insist on the replacement. Have no hope it will keep working.

What a shame their customer service and ethics don’t reflect their claim to sustainability.

Can’t wear watch in high humidity country?

Watch was worn in mexico. Humidity got under the crystal. It was not taken into the water just to the beach. Contacted customer service and was told you weren’t supposed to wear the watch in high humidity countries. Ummmm what? I wouldn’t buy one of these watches again ever. Cool idea terrible service and product quality.

Bought the Solar Curve

Bought the Solar Curve, and also a pair set as a gift. and I'm very satisfied. I've been wearing it a few times, and it is resistant and the quality of the material is solid. I'm wearing it for special event, because i wanted to avoid typical luxury brand for more local high-quality craftmanship ( I'm from Quebec). The "certified B corp" is indeed a certification a bit difficult to have. I'm less sure of the issue other review have encountered, but I did receive good follow-up service when the package was delayed due to a strike by Canada Post.

They probably improved their company through out the years, and I feel comfortable recommending them. The watch stand out, have a story to tell, is local and look good.

Beauuuuutiful watch!

I love my Solios watch. It arrived in a timely manner (1 week!) and in perfect condition. The watch came with a stainless steel mesh, as well as my choice of a black vegan leather, strap. While I prefer the mesh one, the vegan leather strap is very nice--and hasn't taken long to soften up. Very satisfied. 5 stars / A+!!

Strap poor quality materials

Poor quality materials and no responsibility taken.

I echo other comments here about the quality. I've only had my watch for 6 months and both the loops have come off the eco leather band.

I contacted them 4 times and no answer. The straps are overpriced (60). They should keep their clients happy, there would not be much for them to replace it when now they are giving one free strap when purchasing a watch.

Poor quality and customer service

Love the idea, concept, design etc. of the watches hence I ordered two watches, one for my partner and one for myself.

However, unfortunately, there are quality issues with both watches. One watch (Solar Classic) has a bit of dust under the glass and the other watch (Solar mini) has a small dent in the watch face as well as four dark areas between the watch face and glass which seem to be related to the construction but not visible on the product pictures on their website.

I reached out regarding both issues to Solios and the customer service is unfortunately absolutely poor. Very long response times and the only response I received so far is that they won’t cover/remove the dust underneath the glass. They told me they come back to me regarding the Solar Mini but I’m still waiting for another reply, even after asking about an update.

Poor quality materials and no responsibility taken

Love the idea of this watch, but I echo other comments here about the quality. I've only had my watch for 4 months and both the loops have come off the eco leather band, one at a time. Solios refuses to replace it. This is obviously a case of poor quality materials and design. It's a bad sign when a company refuses to stand behind its product.

Great concept, poor execution.

Love the idea of a solar powered, sustainably sourced and ethically produced watch. I was sick of 'semi-disposable' smart watches and wanted something different. Sadly, the quality of the timepiece has been poor. The timekeeping itself has been acceptable (loses a bit of time but within parameters of normal). However, the longevity of the build is weak. The face shattered within a month of getting the watch when dropped (not from a significant height). OK - a bit of user error there. I got it fixed. The leather strap has worn hugely during the first year of use - one of the supporting straps that stops the end flapping lose has already broken, I expect the other to go soon. The seams are breaking. The quality of the build feels cheap, and the watch smith that fixed the face (with a better quality glass front than the original had) commented on the poor quality of the materials used. Though he did admire the solar ingenuity! I've also experimented and found the battery goes flat after 4 weeks of being in a draw - so much for the 6 months of life of a charge marketing.

Great idea - not impressed yet.

Excellent company values, great watch!

Bought the watch from Solios in August, 2022. Love the watch, what the company stands re sustainability, their donations to the Rainforest Trust, and their commitment to a more eco-friendly future!! I also received wonderful service. As an added bonus, the founders and company are in Montreal, my hometown!!

Researched watches for a very long time…

Researched watches for a very long time - loved how this company and the watch appeared. Bought the classic rose gold with the vegan eco leather strap. Unfortunately less than a year after purchasing the hour hand turned black and the minute hand has white spots. The eco leather strap clasps both popped and I had to super glue it back to the strap. Reached out to the company as they talk about their 3 year warranty endlessly only to find out that they don't cover the hour hand turning black? Odd for the price that you pay. Wouldn't recommend if you're looking for a watch to last over a few months!

Never received my watch

This company is a complete scam, please avoid for your own sake. I made an order and I never received my product, the "customer success" person kept saying for weeks that they were "working on it", a month passed and I got nothing, not even my money back.

Still waiting for a refund 2 months after returning watch

My experience as an international customer has been really challenging with Solios particularly returning the watch.

I received the watch and unfortunately the solar watch did not keep time accurately. I then returned this as a refund to Solios. However after sending this back over 2 months ago I am yet to receive a refund.

Great experience with this company

Bought a ladies watch as a gift recently from this small Canadian company, having found their website rather by accident. They make very stylish solar-powered watches and I liked the look of the minimalist design and their emphasis on sustainability. I was a little nervous about ordering from a company with no UK distributors and few reviews, but I did not need to be! I found their customer service excellent, with a very helpful agent called Danie answering all questions quickly and clearly via the online chat. Solios are able to charge UK VAT at source, so no messing around with paying the courier on delivery. Delivery was by DHL Express - quoted as a week but was actually delivered in 3 days, which was most impressive. Item was well packed and as a nice touch, Solios had even set the watch to UK timezone before dispatch. I would highly recommend this company.
