Levent Karabulut of Solymos Travel collected me and my wife from our hotel in Kaleiçi ANTALYA at 12.00 midday on Monday 2nd May 2022 and drove us to the north western end of the ancient Roman road, known locally as the Döşemealti Antique Flooring Road. Levent has specialised knowledge of the location of this archaeological site and he was able to direct us to follow the approximately 4.0 km well defined ancient Roman road over the Climax Pass across the Taurus Mountians and its subsequent descent at its south eastern end, as it arrives at the ancient Roman remains at Maximianupolis. Levent drove back to Maximianupolis and then came to meet us by walking up the road's south eastern ascent and then guided us down and accross a field until we reached his car. He then drove us back to our hotel. Dr Mark Wilson of the Seven Churches Network, also based in Antalya, believes that Levent is one of the few guides in Antalya that knows the location of this ancient site, which is not a nomal tourist destination.
