Faulty mattress! Dreadful customer service!
I bought a Harrison Spinks Somnus King sized Mattress in 2019 from Barker and Stonehouse. It was very expensive. It was good for a while, but over recent years it started to get more and more humpy and dippy until recently one of the tufts just fell off and the mattress began to have a large hump in the middle of it that we could do nothing about. It was clearly faulty. I had started to have very bad back trouble at the same time - coincidence?
I contacted Barker & Stonehouse and asked if the mattress was still under guarantee, since we had not been given any information about this when we bought it. 7 years is usually the somnus guarantee. But it became obvious that the makers didn't want to know. They offered to post us a new tuft! As if we were the bed manufacturers! I had mentioned that the bed was shedding dust under some of the tufts and that I had had to hover it up (with the soft upholstery brush) and they promptly told me that I had cancelled the guarantee just by doing that - even if it had been guaranteed!!! Their attitude was pretty unimpressive. Barker and Stonehouse weren't any more help - the woman I had been communicating with promptly went on holiday and no more was heard until she decided to write to me after she got back.
We decided to pay to get rid of the mattress and buy another type of mattress, and so we did. My back is starting to recover now.
The mattress was supposed to be top of the range, but I wouldn't touch another one with a barge pole, and I would advise anyone to steer clear of them.
The customer service of both the bed maker and Barker and Stonehouse left a lot to be desired. I wont be buying anything from either of them again.
