Disappointed with product and experience
I was extremely disappointed with my experience purchasing from Sophia Perez Jewellery. While I acknowledge that factual measurements were provided via email, the overall presentation on the website and in the photographs felt misleading. The imagery and branding suggested a far more high-end product than what I ultimately received, which created a significant gap between expectation and reality.
The cost of the ring was very high (£5,000), yet the communication throughout the process was minimal. Apart from initial contact at the outset of the order and a brief message when the ring was ready, there was little to no engagement. For a purchase at this price point, I expected updates, reassurance, and a more involved customer experience. Consistent communication along the way would have made a meaningful difference.
When I attempted to share feedback about my disappointment, Sophia Perez was defensive, and whilst it was good that she welcomed a conversation with me to discuss, I was put off by the tone of “leave a review” but coupled with a strong indication that this would not be a productive discussion as it was pointed out to me that there were no other similar reviews and that the website made the process clear in terms of extent of contact I would receive. While this may be technically true, spending £5,000 should feel like a premium, considered experience regardless of what the website states. Unfortunately, it did not. And I’m left with a ring I will leave in a box. As it is a salt and pepper diamond it has poor resale value.
The overall experience was so very poor. From start to finish, the interaction felt just transactional rather than bespoke or client-focused. This was further reinforced when the ring arrived in very substandard cardboard packaging, which felt completely at odds with both the price and the brand positioning.
I do acknowledge that this purchase was made entirely at a distance. I did not visit the showroom or have an in-depth conversation with Sophia, and I accept responsibility for that. However, based on my experience, I would strongly recommend that no one makes a purchase without visiting in person and fully understanding the quality of the work before committing. Had I done so, I believe my expectations would have been very different.
Overall, this was not an experience that matched the cost, presentation, or promise of the brand, and I would not repeat it.
