Outstanding customer service!
I required assistance with my SOS Online Backup account and spoke to David at the help line. He was very patient and helpful in stepping me through what was required to resolve my problem. Outstanding customer service! Thank you.

SOS was easy to set up
SOS was easy to set up, including over mapped drives on Windows. I've needed to restore a backup copy a few times. Restoring is easy and intuitive.
I find them a really good service
I find them a really good service. Great back up speed, easy to navigate interface, and easy to recover files. They have great customer service, who are really really responsive.
Good product, terrible website and uncomfortable customer service
I recently renewed and upgraded my subscription with SOS. I was notified by email and by phone that my coverage would be expiring "soon"--I had to ASK the rep when the actual expiration date was--seems this should be automatic.
Before contacting SOS to renew, I did a little research and found several independent entities endorsing their product so I felt ok about renewing. When I went onto the SOS website I could not find a way to renew online, nor were the membership tiers and benefits clearly defined. There was NO cost information whatsoever. Again, this seems a little odd, almost shady. So I called the company.
I found the experience a mixed bag. The rep with whom I dealt was polite, patient, and I could understand his speech (which is surprisingly increasingly rare). He responded to my questions appropriately and, when I said I was a technological Neanderthal, offered to send me an email explaining how to access SOS technical support to help with any difficulty I might have. I appreciated this, but again, shouldn't that info be readily apparent on the website?
The rep observed that I had recently exceeded my allotted backup capacity and suggested a couple of upgrade options. I chose to upgrade because I will need to buy a new computer soon (i'm still using Windows XP!) and figured there would be a lot of data that would need to be backed up due to a new operating system, programs, etc. The additional data I received was more than I expected for the increase in price, which was welcome considering SOS is one of the most expensive services available.
In summary, I'm comfortable with my decision to stay with SOS and to upgrade, but I still feel like the rep was managing me. I think SOS offers a very good product that is fairly pricey but ultimately worth the cost. However, both their website and their customer service protocol need complete overhauls to substantially increase transparency and to provide increased customer confidence.
SOS Is one of the best back up sources…
SOS Is one of the best back up sources out there right now. Unlimited, private, and great support. We've been using it for 4 years now and don't plan on stopping!
Great product
Great product, easy to use, and love the True Encryption!!
This product is like insurance
This product is like insurance. Better to have and never use. But a month after signing up I accidentally deleted a critical folder on a memory stick and couldn't recover it normally. It was backed up to SOS and within minutes I had it back. Hundreds of business critical folders rescued!
I find it easy to use. Backup can be done for free of course, often involve manual interjection. To have something just back up every hour (or whatever frequency you choose) and not have to remember to do it is worth the $1 or so a week.
Good product, easy to use, cheap enough, does the job. Recommend it.
SOS Back up from Shioon Kim,DMD
It was so great that the IT person remoted to my server and set up all program to back up. The company sends us the following up e-mail after they did back up the files every day. That is a great idea.
Satisfied
Have been a customer since 2012 and have always been satisfied.
SOS service has saved my company.
SOS backup service saved my small graphic art company. I had a hard drive disruption. After a major repair on my MAC, I was able to recover all my files from my most recent SOS backup. Great service and simple to use cloud program to download files and review usage plans.
Not very transparent
Try finding anything in your account about when your account expires or how much it is when it renews. It doesn't exist! Crazy... I know they don't want you to know and see these things. They also make canceling a huge pain. Will never use them again.
Don't use SOS, and make sure your data is saved elsewhere
I have used SOS for a few years and been reasonably happy but this year's renewal has changed my view. I was given very short notice that my account was due for renewal, and as I was about to go on holiday I had no time to back up my data before the account expired (it includes my business archive) so I had to renew. I couldn't find any account details showing my renewal dates on the website.
I was told if I didn't renew there was no grace period and my data would be deleted. I reluctantly renewed. When I came back from holiday they had taken a payment higher than the amount agreed, which was already 3 times higher than the previous year's charge. After protesting they refunded the difference and only issued an invoice when pushed.
Don't use them.
Cancellation is a hassle
Cancellation is a hassle. It's 2018, it's pretty shady to try to force people to sit through waiting to chat/talk to someone to cancel a subscription.
Poor Mac client - NO simple cancelation possible once U are, you stay !
Poor Mac client, and actually no way to cancel subscription, that's a trap !
No way to cancel automatic subscription
Not bad product, but they do not provide a way to cancel automatic subscriptions, and their billing team isn't available during Australian hours. I tried to chase this up with a tech support rep, but he just said someone would contact me and nobody did. The chat with the tech support rep simply cut out.
Digital Data Protection 24/7
Even a small file modification is quickly sensed by SOS and the data are backed up instantly. Moreover, all the file versions are stored remotely & any version of the file can be retrieved anytime. I am also getting SOS data backup reports to email.
Robust backup product for an amazing price
SOS is a really good online data backup solution. My data is safe and off site with the added benefit of being able to access it from anyplace using pc or android phone. This is not drop box or sugarsync but a robust backup solution that maintains current and historical versions of all your important files. Very easy to install. Initiates with a message after PC starts, giving me time to pause it if I need to do something in a jiffy.. Shows progress and what is backed up.. On-line support was also very helpful in solving a problem. A great product at an amazing price point!
Reliable Backup Solution for Business Data
I am an owner for a small business and installed SOS online backup to secure my business data. I am backing up data from 4 PCs. Nice thing about SOS is, I am getting daily backup reports to my email id from SOS that has information about PC Name from which the data are backed up, No. Of files backed up, etc. Now, I don't worry about data loss because my business data is protected by reliable backup solution.
