I've had an amazing experience using SoundBetter. I needed a very specific/niche type of singer to finish a song and was able to search through a huge selection and find the perfect fit with solid reviews. He was responsive, got the vocals back on time, and was good with revisions. He fully understood the creative direction and the vocals were exactly what we needed.

This has been my experience with SoundBetter for years. Overall it's the best platform for production, musicians, mixing and mastering. Nothing else comes close. All of the people in the first few pages of a search are super vetted. You can listen to samples and check their reviews. It's really changed the game for independent artists and producers.

The platform is very good in bringing supply and demand together in music oriented issues.
On this platform, you can find very good composers, music producers and singers.
Due to the online digital track record, there is always a track history on which every party can rely.
It's a trustworthy platform with trustworthy people.

I’ve used SoundBetter for an entire album and am working on another one right now, and honestly, I would be lost without this amazing platform. The talent here is off the charts - truly world-class. The level of consistency and professionalism always delivers.

From mixing and mastering engineers like Austin Leeds and Sefi Carmel, to guitarist Ziv Shalev, vocalist Eileen, saxophonist Hugo Lee, and pianist Giuliano Poles, every collaborator has been exceptionally talented and a pleasure to work with.

Easy access to real life professionals which actually care about delivering a prime product!!

I'm giving it one star because their isn't an option for zero.
I paid my life savings to a producer named Uros Borsic, from SLOVENIA, to recreate the AI instruments in my written songs, with real guitars.

He wanted all the money up front because HE was afraid of being scammed. I'm a pensioner and I was TERRIFIED of being scammed. He assured me he was honest.

I told him to cancel and refund me as it was too much to waste.

He told me he had already spent it on production.
I had only just paid him! There was NO production.

He refused to pay me back.
He sent a 33 second demo of a lead break from one of my songs, claiming he played all instruments.

I put it in multitrack alongside my AI lead.
It was the same.
People who have been playing guitar for almost 50 years told me the same. As did several audio engineers.

A complete fraud.
I told him I was ill as I am diabetic with chronic anxiety and depression. I just want my savings back.

I proudly saved that money after gaining 14 years sobriety.

He pushed me to drink 2 cans of beer, and to the point where I didn't want to live.

I vomit every single day from stress.

I have Australian and Slovenian Police, the fraud department of my bank involved and I STILL can't get my money back.

He goes by Sound Evolver Studio.
Also in a band called 'Center Mass Universe', and previously in a band called 'Last Day Here'.
They have all blocked me as I've exposed Uros Borsic, and SoundBetter, who hosts and enables this predator to operate, waiting for his prey to make the epic mistake of trusting and hiring him.

Avoid this low life criminal scum.

He is the most vile human being I have ever encountered.

UPDATE: A professional audio engineer has tested a demo Uros Borsic sent me, where he claimed to be playing all instruments on a song I wrote that had AI backing,( that I was paying Uros Borsic to recreate with real guitars etc, then I was suspicious as it was a little too perfect, and in multitrack, the AI and Uros Borsics demo are THE SAME) has concluded it was recreated by Uros with AI. HE DID NOT PLAY GUITAR! He refuses to refund me, and I got nothing out of this. Now I have the proof of his fraud!

I sent Uros Borsic a letter of demand to refund me, now that a professional has exposed his fraud, and informed SoundBetter that they have an obligation to warn Uros Borsic's clients, past and present, that he was caught trying to pass off AI as his own guitar playing, so that they can get whatever work Uros Borsic did for them reassessed. SoundBetter ignored me, and Uros Borsic blocked me from every profile, and won't reply to emails. He is a complete fraud. Primarily a scammer masquerading as an honest Producer.

Soundbetter has terrible customer service. I have had several issues and contacted support and they have simply ignored my messages. Airgigs has a lot better support.

I’ve enjoyed using Sound Better to connect with a producer and other musicians. I would recommend it to anyone seeking a way to get their music created on a professional level.

Through Sound Better I found Wil Houchans who was more interested in delivering my vision than taking my $$$! Wil hired Rebecca Howell to sing on the demo! I am taking the next step with Wil and hopefully we'll have a radio ready song late this summer! The best is yet to come! If I could give more than 5 Stars I would!!!

We found Anton Wikstrom on SoundBetter years ago, and he's our go-to guy for production, mixing, and mastering. He always hits it out of the park for us, and this time he made magic happen with some simple background vocals we gave him. It's great having access to such talented professionals.

SoundBetter has a review silo effect issue. This happens in a few ways: 1) Freelancers provide sample work but there is no opt in to share your delivered final product on your review. Often deliveries are sub-par and not reflective of freelancer samples. 2) Unlike on comparable websites, there is no way to sort reviews by Star rating. Bad reviews from edge cases get buried and cannot be found. 3) If a project is cancelled & you reach an agreement with a freelancer to stop a project midway for some fraction of the initial work scope & project price, you cannot leave a review - another thing that whitewashes SoundBetter’s freelancer ratings and makes them effectively worthless.

False Promises, Poor Communication, and Zero Accountability

I had one of the worst creative and customer experiences using SoundBetter for a holiday track project.

I paid $200 upfront with the expectation of a professional, collaborative process. What I received was radio silence, vague communication, and a rushed “mix” that felt like it was thrown together with no care or attention to detail. There was no sense of engagement or commitment to the project — just long delays, broken promises, and a final product that didn’t reflect the value paid or the platform’s advertised quality.

When I contacted SoundBetter’s support to escalate the issue, I was told that a refund wasn’t possible because I hadn’t paid the “full price” and the provider technically delivered something. It didn’t matter that the work fell drastically short of what was promised — their policy protected the provider, not the paying client.

Even after reaching out to Alan, a platform manager, I got nothing more than a generic response and complete silence afterward. No real effort to understand or resolve the problem. No accountability. Just brushed off and ignored.

This experience has made it clear that SoundBetter prioritizes shielding its providers over ensuring artists get the quality and professionalism they pay for. If you’re considering hiring someone through this platform, proceed with extreme caution.

You might end up wasting your money — and worse, your time and trust — on a process that leaves you empty-handed.

I think people deserve to know that the reviews are being censored, filtered and blocked if they are not to the taste of the owners/management of the Soundbetter. The honest reviews are being removed without telling you they are being removed, AND you are not given the reason why. Only after I asked multiple times why the review was removed I was told that it is not an accurate description. This is false. Mind you, I tried revising the review several times and after my 5ft try, I only had one simple sentence ‘I was not happy with the service provided’. And even then, they decided to remove the review. Simply put, they do not want ANY reviews that are 1 star. Period. Bad for the business, but VERY BAD for the consumer in order to evaluate the platform if they want to use it or not.

I’ve worked with many mix engineers throughout my career, and while I had a great experience with a singer on sound better. I hired a mix engineer who’s blatantly committing fraud. Stay far away from Jon Jon Robinson, he’ll ruin your music and waste your time . It’s almost unbelievable that he claims to have 30 years of experience because his work and behavior suggest otherwise. A kid with an iPad and AI app could mix better than him.

The mix he delivered was beyond terrible—overcompressed to the point where it sounded like it was playing through busted speakers. It was flat, lifeless, and clipping, muddy. He doesn’t have the ear for music at all- he outsources his work without telling you upfront, he’s completely incompetent when it comes to mixing himself. When I pointed out the obvious issues, instead of handling it professionally, he became defensive, aggressive, and even started yelling. He took me asking for revisions as a personal attack Instead of taking constructive feedback, he resorted to insults and excuses.

This is not how a professional operates. I’ve worked with real engineers who know how to mix, communicate, and deliver quality work—John Jon is not one of them. If you care about your music and your money, avoid him at all costs. His “experience” is a bluff, and his behavior is embarrassing.

I have been using SB for almost two years now, and it's been a game changer! It has enabled me to get professional mixing and mastering of my neoclassical compositions.
