Can't get access to my account online to check 2023 Bill although using correct data. If I don't get a paper copy through the post then not paying. Absolute disgrace. Government need to look at those at the top...
Absolute shambles, mobile app doesn't work, on the website you can't reset your password if you don't know your account number, this company lives in history. I'm a single occupant and pay £35 for water each month, shockingly expensive water. Water should be taken back in governments hands not a private companies who makes millions. A----
My Account on your website is useless have asked you to contact me but you have not bothered.
About time you sorted things out and became a company who treats its customers with some good customer service
Complain to Ofwat ! Useless, not fit for purpose, useless website, don't maintain contact, nearly 2 hours on the phone today, just to close my account and open a new account for my tenant. Can't log in or contact online.
The whole online thing is pointless when they have this problem for almost a year. The app is same story, can't login. Absolutely disgrace.
I have been a S/Staffs customer for many years and up to 2 years ago they were brilliant! 5 min phone call and all sorted. WISH I COULD CHANGE SUPPLIERS! BUT THEY'VE GOT YOU BY THE NUTS!
This company is a disgrace , I’ve spoken to them ( average wait time 40 minutes) and sent messages via messenger and even after 10 months they’ve still not credited my over charge. I would love to change my water supplier but guess what it’s a Middle Eastern owned monopoly so I’m stuck with it.
Got email (8thFeb) saying bill available to view on line...
When attempting to log in message states unavailable updating billing system 27thJan to 6th Feb?
I guess late completing update since now 9th Feb.
Send message today but no response yet...same day though.

So, I along with thousands of others have suffered from the data breech that saw our personal details being shared on the Dark Web. Oh but I didn't find out from SSW, no. I found out after a credit card was entirely wiped out, thank god it was only a £350 limit, however, that was our emergency card, we now have absolutely no back up. If one card/account could be effected, what others could be!? This is before I even get onto the constant scam phone calls, some well into the night at 3am, mostly with private numbers so I cannot block them. My husband works nights so I need my phone available in case of emergency.
How did this happen in August and I'm only just finding out now? What is going to be done to compensate customers who are suffering? My credit rating is in tatters, what will get done about that? 1 years supply of a free expiria account isn't going to fix the stress and damage you've caused.
A nice place to start would of atleast been an apology. I haven't even had that yet.
100% will be joining others in pursuing legal action and I encourage every other person who has been affected to do so too. Plenty of 'no win, no fee' companies are taking this on.

I now have no faith in this company. Besides the data breach of all my details, and those of several hundreds of people also, they would not accept my meter reading, which through no fault of mine was a faulty meter. As I have no choice in which water company provides the water to the property (unlike other utilities).

They say they are updating the online billing payment from 27th of January till the 6th of February. I still can't log on to check my account. Its the 7th today. What company takes over a week to update an account system. Bloody jokers.

The water had been off in our street. It came back on quickly in the surrounding area but not for our street They immediately sent someone out to check and it was sorted really quickly. Turns out Cadent had damaged the water main!

Just had a letter Today saying My Personal Data has been shared on the dark web. Why the hell am I just being told about It now. What are you planning to do about it?

Further update about this awful company who you have no choice to use, they don't mind sending you a communication however when you ask them to reply to you as the customer and simply engage with these updates. Put simply utter contempt, Willicott you should be ashamed of your behaviour or simply get another job playing hide and seek because no one will find you.
You lost my data giving access to crooks and thieves to my bank account and identity and waited 5 months to inform me right b4 Christmas I nearly had a stroke. Im suing the brakes off you fumbling organisation. Im so 😠 🤬

Like many other customers, I recently received the dreaded letter advising that my private data and bank details have been breached and published on the dark web.
The letter received is devoid of any apology, and lack of accountability and responsibility. Whilst efforts have been made to sign customers up to True Identity, they have not offered any compensation for customers to sign up to CIFAS which would help protect them against possible fraud.
They offer a "dedicated" number to call for additional information, which is actually just a line through to the 3rd party who have been appointed to deal with the cyber incident. There is no additional information to be obtained by calling, only that South Staffs have met their legal obligations to inform customers.
When trying to call through to the normal customer support line at any time, you get the standard message of "high volume of calls" and you are on hold a long time.
Whilst it is expected to be a stressful situation for the call operators, there was certainly a sense of defensiveness when trying to talk to them, which just compounds the issue for worried customers.
Frustratingly, it's not like there is an option to chose another provider, so there should be much more accountability and remorse demonstrated by SSW for a very poor effort to protect data that customers are not able to chose to with-hold.
Just had letter yesterday saying my bank details are available all over the world. Whoever passed this letter of explanation should resign or be sacked immediately advising customers to be careful with passwords and codes and make them complex as possible. Pity didn't follow their own advice then!. And then to say don't worry your water supply is safe and nothing to worry about absolutely brilliant I can make a cup of tea if I've got enough money left to afford to boil the kettle. Just a pity we can't all switch water suppliers and put these cowboys out of business.
Data breach in August, notified DECEMBER. Dismal service and you will be made to pay for your shoddy ways.
Would give Zero stars if i could.

REPLY: We should have been made aware IMMEDIATELY!!! I don’t even do online banking to protect myself!! You have petrified me!!! Cannot believe you’ve left us months without information us you could not keep our data safe!!! And it’s out there! Totally unbelievable paper bills for me I think after this and the cancellation of all direct debits nobody should hold details they can’t keep safe!!! Payment by cheque or at the post office is the only way now!! Courtesy decency and common sense should have made you aware you needed to tell us!!! Not waiting to be told it’s your legal obligation how dare you!!!!
Mortified. Cannot believe 4 months AFTER my data was stolen from them they decide to send me a letter!! FOUR MONTHS!!! Just before Christmas I have enough to worry about and now they hit me with this!!! Hope you get sued to hell and back.

Lost my very personal details in a data breach, took around 5 months to contact me to this effect, and haven't confirmed the full scope of what personal information of mine they've lost. Appalling.
For anyone affected, you should submit a Subject Access Request (DSAR) to determine what level of impact this might have in exposing you to fraud etc, and consider moving your bank accounts immediately.
