Bin collection is a lottery
Bin collection is a lottery - refusing to empty bins due to slight contamination of plastic and tins. Its a bit petty, and creates a waste issue in communities.
2 weeks worth of recycling in a family of 5 household is unmanageable

Misinformation provided to tenant…
Misinformation provided to tenant letting my property.
An employee at South Glos Council has INCORRECTLY informed a tenant letting my property through a registered agency, that the correctly served termination paperwork detailing the date of the tenancy termination is not legally binding, and is in fact the date when a landlord can begin to lodge paperwork to seek possession of the property.
The letting agency contract has been signed by the tenant and clearly states that the tenancy may be terminated by landlord by giving two month´s notice, ¨..at of after the fixed term period.¨
Following this erroneous advice from South Glos, the tenant has stated they wish to remain in my property past the agreed termination date, however, South Glos Council neglected to qualify why the tenancy was being terminated (landlord returning from abroad with pet, storage boxes, vehicle, etc) and failed to advise tenant that they would be liable for associated accommodation and storage costs for landlord.
On speaking with the South Glos employee, she agreed she did not understand the "landlord" would be returning to property on 19th August (which the tenant was fully aware of) and that the property is required as the sole residency of landlord, thus confirming she did not qualify the situation prior to advising. She added that she has now contacted tenant to say he should leave the property on 19th as advised by letting agency.
This ill-placed advice has caused me a lot of disruption and potentially increased my costs significantly which will be passed on to tenant.
An example of a council employee not fully understanding the contractual terms of an agreement and choosing to interpret a single word ( "after" ) in the notice period paperwork in an outrageously liberal way leading to the tenant to be told they can legally stay in the property.
I have written to South Glos to ask how I may lodge a formal complaint for this to be investigated as clearly it will cause considerable issues if a similar situation occurs.
Despite numerous complaints to the…
Despite numerous complaints to the Council over many years about the performance of SITA/SUEZ no action or interest has ever been taken. SUEZ are supposed to collect refuse and recycling, not dump it the road or, more commonly, leave it behind. No one in the council is interested so I assume that it's such a badly written contract that SUEZ dictates what and when they do something, not the Council.
Unfair and Unhelpful
Firstly, I have tried to register a change of address (with both properties within the County). However, the web site will not allow a simple email to explain dates/vacant periods and so on - there is no direct way of communicating anything other than a straight 'move-in/move-out' scenario online - incredibly unhelpful if you work and cannot 'phone.
Secondly, having finally made contact, I have been charged 100% Council Tax for the 'overlap' period despite being the only occupier and entitled to 25% discount as a single person. The Council then ignored numerous emails before insisting it was justified charging more (100%) for an empty property than for the occupied property (75% with single persons discount). This is 2019 so the ignoring of emails is appalling whilst the lack of flexibility suggests no-one is in control. This is a Council intent on grabbing money from honest Tax Payers
Poorly designed web site
The section of the South Gloucestershire web site used to renew green bin collection is poorly designed in my view.

Through no fault of my own South Gloucestershire Council have decided to take me to court for the sum of £867.57 in relation to road debris which was not my fault. Slurry had been left by the farmer which brought me off my motorcycle. The Avon & Somerset police have already identified the third-party responsible for this, yet I have been issued with the bill.
Andrew Porter finally corrected the paperwork and the above summons was issued to John Shiles.
