Rated 3 out of 5 stars

Great for counting calories. Too American/ Christian based.

This is a fantastic free site for Calorie counting. There are various weight loss groups to challenge you. Diabetic, new member etc . There is a community forum to post photos and follow members success stories.
I gave 3 stars only as the strong political, American and Christian content of some members overwhelms the community feed. Although Sparks states it is not allowed there is a heavy Christian presence. With one poster going as far as calling non-believers Heathens. New comers are not made to feel welcome in the community feed. The same members overwhelm the feed for years and treat the community as their own sounding board. There should be a way to block a members feed. There should be a way to limit content to our own country.
Another issue is members are allowed to upload product listings with nutrition content. Many times these are wrong making finding a correct product listing time consuming and frustrating. If you want a simple calorie counter with an app that scans products the site is great.
If you want a community forum to gain insight and belong. I would look elsewhere.

I've used SparkPeople for over 3 Years & it's helped me pay more attention to my fitness.

I'm in my mid-30s and up until fairly recently fitness and health have been an afterthought for me. But as I get older and my metabolism slows down, I've realized it's important to learn more about what makes my body operate well.

SparkPeople has been a fantastic resource for learning about how my holistic health picture fits together. Plus their app is awesome too!
