Review summary

Created with AI, based on recent reviews

Evaluating 150 reviews, most reviewers were somewhat happy with their experience overall. Many customers are pleased with the quality of the products, particularly the bikes, finding them to be excellent and well-built, with some highlighting specific models for their performance and components. The buying experience is often described as great, with prompt delivery and secure packaging, and some appreciate the helpfulness and knowledge of customer service representatives. Many also report that their bikes arrived in good condition, were easy to assemble, and performed well right out of the box. However, some people were dissatisfied with the product quality, citing issues like missing components, design flaws, and bikes breaking down prematurely, with several experiencing repeated motor failures. There are also significant concerns about customer service, with reports of unresponsiveness, lack of follow-through, and a perceived unwillingness to address product issues or honor warranties. Delivery service is another area of dissatisfaction, with some customers experiencing delays, damaged packaging, or incorrect delivery methods, leading to frustration and inconvenience.

The Turbo Vado 3.0 EVO is a terrific bike. While I like to dial in new bikes myself over several rides, it would have been helpful if the local delivery dealer who built the bike offered to set up ba... See more

It's a great helmet in most ways. Except you can only adjust the chin strap tightness, nothing else. This lack of adjustable straps is a huge design flaw. I fixed my issue with a safety pin inside and... See more

The bike is beautiful, but it was missing several components for the AXS transmission. Specialized has been slow to get back to me.

Well, the bike that I purchased for my son was not the right fit. We really made our focus about serving his special needs--a number of factors (age--he's 13, autistic, & hesitant of change). The bett... See more

Planet Cycles in Brisbane Australia is awesome

Planet Cycles in Brisbane Australia is an awesome store. The assistant manager and staff are excellent in service and knowledge. It’s your one stop shop for all Specialized products and the best in other brands for all cyclists needs.

There was a known issue

There was a known issue. If someone spends 14k+ on a bike and there is a known issue - the company should reach out and let all the buyers know. It's not a 500 bike.

Excellent Experience

I made the frame purchase with the warranty proceeds from a very well known competitor of Specialized. I can compare the process of purchasing the SL-8 from Specialized to the purchase ordeal of buying from the competitor as night and day. The Tarmac frame arrived in just a few short days, well packed with all the ancillary hardware and components that were supposed to be there. The competitor’s shipment got stuck in some kind of FedEx input loop that the shipping and receiving department of the manufacturer couldn’t seem to straighten out. It took perhaps a week before I finally received the bicycle and it was delivered to a FedEx store location and not my home address. At any rate, I would not hesitate for a second if you have your eye on a Specialized/S-Works product. They are easy to reach, receptive when needed, know all the answers to technical questions and will offer support from your local brick and mortar authorized Specialized bike shop if the need arises. Great experience and outstanding product!

If you want the best

If you want the best, trust Specialized. Their bikes are solid and perform over the miles and years. I also like their helmets and shoes better than other brandsI have tried for comfort and fit.

Easy to do business with

Easy to do business with. Research, info/specs, payment and purchase history were all easy to do. The delivery time was also reasonable.

I’ve got a Specialized Stumpjumper Comp…

I’ve got a Specialized Stumpjumper Comp in Matt Sage White, which I’ve had for about a year. From new I found the paint marks very easily, be it mud or oil/grease, it leaves a stain that can’t be cleaned off. The frame is now starting to look a total mess for a bike that hasn’t been used a great deal. I’ve contacted Specialized and had it checked at one of their dealers who fed back more pictures to them (which I had already done). Specialized say it’s acceptable, just wear and tear. They say I should have got it wrapped from new!! Is this acceptable? £100 for the kit and £150-£250 to get it applied!! Surely this bike shouldn’t be sold in Matt finish if it can’t be cleaned? I feel Specialized are not facing up to an obvious fault by using Matt paint that is totally unacceptable for any bike, road or off road and they simply don’t care. I have got a few of their bikes but I won’t ever buy another one due to their terrible customer service.

Bike is less than 2 yrs old

Bike is less than 2 yrs old, only ridden seasonally and on its 4th motor. Turbo Levo carbon locks up and won’t run. Dealer just keeps saying new motor. You cannot get ahold of anyone at specialized that is willing to listen, they don’t seem to care or follow thru. Sadly we spent a ton of money on this poorly made bike. I’m actually embarrassed for Specialized. Our riding buddies are not impressed.

Extremely disappointing experience with…

Extremely disappointing experience with Specialized UK.

I ordered a mountain bike and received a mountain bike in the expected colour and appearance. It was left unattended outside my house by the courier, visible from the pavement. There was nothing at delivery to suggest it was incorrect, so I assembled it in good faith and put it into storage as it was a Christmas present for my 12 year old son.

After delivery, Specialized contacted me claiming they had made a warehouse labelling error and that the bike might be wrong. Instead of arranging a straightforward swap, they repeatedly demanded photos and serial numbers, imposed deadlines, and made references to legal escalation, while failing to respond to clear and reasonable emails proposing collection and replacement.

Despite multiple chasers, they stopped responding altogether. As a customer, it was extremely frustrating to be treated as though I was responsible for correcting their internal warehouse error, and even worse to be left without replies after legal threats had already been made.

This situation was entirely avoidable with basic customer service and common sense. I would expect far better handling from a premium brand.

Update:
Following my original review, the situation has deteriorated further.

Despite asserting that the bike delivered to me is incorrect due to their own warehouse error, Specialized UK are now refusing to arrange collection of that bike and delivery of the replacement they say was ordered. Instead, they have stopped responding and continue to insist on serial numbers and photographs rather than taking practical steps to resolve the issue.

As a result of this refusal to collect and replace the bike, my 12 year old son is now at risk of being left without his Christmas present, entirely due to how this has been handled.

Great bike when it works

Great bike when it works. I've owned 3 Levos since the pandemic and had at least half a dozen motors replaced. Now they won't honor replacing faulty motors any longer. How they think it's ok to sell $10,000+ bicycles with motors that don't last and not replace them is unacceptable. It they were a car manufacturer, they'd be out of business.
