Trying new Resound Vivia9 hearing aids from Specsavershearing at Totton. Audiologist Trish isfirst class, knows her job and with lovely personality.
Resound sell themselves on being one of the giant companies.i have worn hearing aids for past 40 years and these Ai aids are the best I have had.I cannot fault them. The natural sound everything well balanced with clarity is awe inspiring.

Dreadful experience, rushed & poor

The eye test was good but the customer services was/is very poor felt rushed, I needed a new prescription but it was not explained how thick lenses would be. After a week I took the glasses back & asked if the lenses could be thinned, young girl was very disinterested in the issue, after paying the xtra money for the thinning on the lenses I was told to pick them up in a week.
I received a txt the following week telling me that they were ready, i arranged a time to pick them up.
The glasses were not the ones i had taken back instead they tried to give me my long distance ones i already had, i spoke with Sophie who looked puzzled & was not sure where my glasses were? She went away again & came back with mine after 15 minutes, my glass lenses hadn’t been adjusted & was told it would be another week before they would be ready, she was very upset unsympathetic but then tried to bribe me with a glass lens cleaner, no Sophie it didn’t help, some good manners & customer service would had been much better.
The experience at spec saver’s Orpington was dreadful, not sure I would use them again I certainly wouldn’t recommend them.

The Crosby branch

The Crosby branch - the smart Alec didn’t even apologise when I told him he forgot to tell me about the cost before doing the eye scan. I was standing there called back for the £10 charge which I had no idea about. I had gone for the free eye check and luckily I had brought my mothers card to food shop for her. Refused to say sorry admitting you’re wrong. It would have been the thing to do but Chris the boss nor none of the minions have apologised. Too late now.

Thank you Rhys!

My daughter and myself enjoyed the most helpful service from Rhys in the Christchurch branch when buying glasses. He made what can often be a tense time - choosing frames and lenses, then ensuring they fitted perfectly - a real joy. (Gwen Mellor)

Terrible Customer Service

My experience was terrible.
Day 1 (Eye test & new glasses, 2nd Feb 2026):
Eye test was excellent. After the test, the optician handed me over to the sales assistant ( a lady). While I was choosing my frames, she disappeared. After waiting for 15 minutes, I went up to the reception counter to see what was going on. I was i formed that the lady who was serving me on lab now and someone else will serve me.
Day 2 (two weeks later, when I went to pick one of the two pair of glasses,20th Feb 2026 ):
I was prescribed varifocal lenses. I was not property described how to use them. When I requested about adjustments, only one side of the new frame was adjusted.
Day 3 (when I went to collect the other glass, 14.03.2026, between 14:40-15:00):
I was given the new glass. While standing trying the new glass, I was asked by the lady who served me if she could do anything. I mentioned about adjusting my previous pair. She took it and didn't say anything about where I can wait for her. I sat on the nearest vacant chair. At some point, the lady who served me returned and I found her giving my glass to someone else ( another customer waiting to be served). Luckily, that customer mentioned that it's not his glass which got my attention to retrieve my glass.
Also, I asked a question about my glasses becoming foggy frequently. The lady said she can't answer me as it is lens orientated. She didn't pass it to someone who could assist.
I spent a lot of money on this two pairs of glasses. The service I have received is appalling.
I am not going back to Specsavers again.
@ The management team, if you need more information, please let me know. Your staffs definitely need more training on customer service.

Mr Brackstone, an exemp24/02/2026lary audiologist

Mr Brackstone,

Mr Brackstone,
I am afraid I must cancel my appointment on the 18th as I have decided to go with another company - for better or worse.

Again I compliment you for your handling of my needs but Trustpilot does not reflect well on the company's after-care for Hearing.

You have done the company's reputation a service!

Never again thanks

I attended an appointment at Eastbourne Spec savers. Frankly it was an absolute 2 hour wast of time. The machines were operated by trainees. They had to put me back in the queue as all the results were incorrect. I was asked to go round again. Finally I was seen by what I thought was a fully trained optician. At the end of the examination he informed me he was a trainee.
I left with absolutely zero confidence that the supplied prescription was correct. I booked a further eye test at a local independent family opticians. At a cost of £60. They were completely thorough and professional. I ended up with a correct prescription that doesn't even relate to Spec savers. Spec savers?? .Never again thanks.

Disgraceful

I had an appointment for a hearing test at their Wimborne, Dorset branch. Arrived for my hearing test only to be told that the audiologist hadn't arrived for work that morning at 9am. My hearing test was 2pm and nobody bothered to let me know.
I'm in my eighties and had to get the bus to Wimborne in the pouring rain only to find it cancelled. What an absolute lack of professionalism.
Also, last year, when I was getting new glasses, I had a text to say they were ready, so once again I caught the bus into Wimborne only to find that they weren't ready!!!
I shall never use Specsavers again and if I could have given no stars at all, that's what I would have done. An utter disgrace and totally unprofessional.

I’d give no stars if I could

I’d give no stars if I could
shocking service of home testing and delivery
4 weeks no glasses
our lesser dad has dementia and parkinson’s lives in assisted living
we told the gent costing that on delivery day to give us a call
so we could be there as dads unable to get to the door himself
said date no call no update no email
a week on I call to chase the progress and some snotty women who clearly needs a coffee …. tells
me we tried to deliver noone answerd
apparently no one answered the managers button on the assisted living and noone answered on our phones
which is total
rubbish neither my sister or I had any missed calls
neither of us have had any contact from yourselves so basically now we have to wait for you to be in the area again to deliver
I used this service thinking
it would be because people cared about vulnerable people and could follow simple instructions
communication and customer service is up there with the worst i’ve had as for the customer service lady just it was like one of the doctors receptionists these days snotty and rude and sharp !
don’t use

DO NOT USE SPECSAVERS HEARING CARE.

DO NOT USE SPECSAVERS HEARING CARE.
Hearing test carried out. impossible to get appointments. Hearing aids ordered (£2000). Arrived 2 weeks later. Specifically ordered rechargeable ones, battery ones arrived. Two weeks later rechargeable ones arrived. Couldn't get them to work properly. Impossible to get appointment to see the audiologist. Only one lady does three stores. Eventually got a full refund. They just don't have enough resources to offer this service. Go somewhere else, if they are any better. The whole experience lasted nearly three months.

No back up and contacting them is impossible

Specsavers hearing tests at home based in Stratford upon Avon.
My husband had hearing aids provided by this company. There was no back up. They are not working and no one ever answers the phone.
Very disappointing.

Waiting time

We have been inundated with emails from Specsavers to book an appointment, which we did. When we arrived, yet again (this has happened before), we were told they were running 20-30 mins late so we thought we'd go and get a coffee but were told we couldn't leave the shop just in case they could see us sooner. As we were a little early anyway it would have meant that one of us would have had to wait well over an hour with nowhere to sit. The receptionist wasn't helpful and didn't seem bothered that we decided to cancel. We made the trip into town specifically for the appointment which is a 15 mile round trip. We won't be using them in future and will give our custom to another opticians.

Avoid

Specavers insist on sending me reminders about a free hearing test, ( I know that I can unsubscribe ). I wouldn’t touch them with a barge pole. The assistant who was syringing my ears the last time caused me a lot of pain and discomfort but kept going even though I had held my hand up for her to stop. As a result she damaged my hearing which resulted in around six return visits. It’s just an assembly line run by unprofessional people. Avoid at all costs.

Excellent experiece

Excellent experiece with Ben at Herne Bay Specsavers. I started with Phonak hearing aids which I didnt get on with as I was getting feedback. Ben patiently explained the different type of domes and I have switched to Specsavers own brand of hearing aids which have a sleave dome,no feedback and I find excellent.
Ben through the proceedure has been very patient and Specsavers honoured their return policy and even better news I have received £1000 refund.

I had an appointment

I had an appointment, sat and waited for 35 minutes - nobody came to tell me of a delay. I made an appointment for another day, and again was kept waiting. I was told at least another 15 minutes before I would be seen. I've gone to Boots!!!!
