No words.

I was one of the unfortunate carers that tuped over to this company in February 2026 and dear god has it been hell! Previously working for another company these ‘lovely’ lot took over! They don’t listen when you call about anything, really. The service users needs and wants aren’t listened to. The amount of times I’ve called about service users preference is pathetic tbh. If the call is covered they don’t care. The staff in the office lie on occasion to get their own way and to get you to cover a call, they take calls off you whenever they want and add calls whenever they want. Sometimes only giving 1 hour notice! The rotas aren’t done until 1/2days before. Everytime you ring the office about anything, you get ‘I’ll get back to you’ ‘I’ll sort it’ and nothing is done OR you’ll get admin who can’t do anything with rotas. They don’t listen to the timing of the service users, sometimes putting 4 hourly time critical with 1 hour 30 gaps. Then they complain that they have to log you in and out of calls. They’ll either add tiny calls on or massive. No in between! They prey on the most vulnerable workers- the one they know they can convince to do the calls. They either give you 0 minutes between calls or 2 hours. There’s no in between. That’s just some of the things that have happened in the last 2 months!!
It’s a real shame because the service users are the ones who are suffering the most, they were told everything would stay the same, but now they’re getting 4 different carers a day. Sometimes morning calls at 1pm!! 4pm to get someone ready for bed, simply because they want the call covered!!

Springfield....Worst Care company EVER!!!

I was a client with Springfield in South Tyneside for 1yr, left 2024. Over the past 11yrs i have been with 5 different Care companies & I have never known a worse company. From day one they proved that what I said or what mattered to me didn't count. BIG MISTAKE!!!..

During my time with them I calls that were missed even when Carer's rang the office to say they could cover it they weren't allowed to. I had Shingles & they sent Carers in without informing them...totally unacceptable!!
When my main Carer was on holiday they sent 12 different Carers in over 14 days knowing I was very high risk to infection having little to no immune system. It could take upto 3 days to get them to answer the phone & once it took them 11days to call me back. Considering that ALL clients are vulnerable that is really unacceptable & putting us at risk. I have a broken back which is pinned from neck-pelvis with Titanium rods & a history of falls & blackouts. I told the office that if I was unconscious but breathing that the Carers could NOT put me in the recovery position(which is standard practice) in case one of my rods had snapped as it could paralyse me. I asked them on numerous occasions to make sure it was Red Flagged on the front of my notes that so the Carers coming in would see it immediately they looked at my call notes. It took them 1yr 1 day to actually do it!! Even then it was right at the end of my info.. If that had happened that Carer would of had to live with it for the rest of their life, what type of company puts their staff in that situation??? It was only done after I had arranged an appointment with Social services !!

Springfield Carers only came in on a morning to do my personal care after that my husband was my main Carer. Sadly I lost him last year, the Sunday he died my Carer rang on-call which is in Hull, to inform them & stating I would need a extra call at night to help me get ready for bed & to check on me as I would of been left 23 hrs between calls. Even after I had fallen while trying to get myself ready for bed, banged my head, bruised my face & all down the side of my body Springfield refused me a bed call!!... Yet 2 Carers offered to do my bed calls I was refused care!!!... hence why I called Social services in. Springfield’s answer was to subcontract my bed call to another Care company Westhome so I had " CONTINUITY " of Care!!!.. How does that work when there's NO contact between the companies regarding me????... They hadn’t informed Westhome that I had a morning call with them, they had my Mam as my next of kin even tho she had died 4yrs ago & my husband who had also died & they had been informed of this by me & my Carers.

After a few weeks I moved my whole care over to Westhome & I can honestly say that's one of the few things Springfield did that benefited me. What a difference!!!.. Friendly, knowledgeable helpful, understanding & most of all they actually truly care. My needs are at the forefront & met by both Carers, office staff & management.... Couldn't be happier with them, they're like my extended family ❤️

I stand up & fight for my rights because there's so many who need care that are unable to or have no one else to stand up for them. If they do these things to me what are they doing to those without a voice???.....

Disappointed by Lack of Support and Fairness

I am deeply frustrated and disappointed with my recent experience with Springfield healthcare, Despite my commitment and effort in training, an unfortunate incident occurred when my car was stolen during their training/lunch break. This unforeseen event left me temporarily without transportation, which is essential for the job.

I promptly informed the company and took steps to catch up on missed training. I also communicated that I would be able to resolve the transportation issue by October and requested a reasonable extension. Instead of offering support or a temporary solution, the company chose to terminate my contract abruptly.leaving me unemployed.

I had made significant arrangements, including securing a childminder to accommodate the job requirements. The lack of flexibility and understanding in this situation feels extremely unfair and disproportionate. A one month grace period would have allowed me to resolve the issue and continue contributing to the company and gives me time to process getting a car.

I hope others considering employment with Springfield are aware of their policies regarding unexpected circumstances and the company’s willingness to provide reasonable accommodations.
