I have been using Bug Off Garlic for horses for well over 15 years. It seems to help tremendously in deterring flies from inundating my horses and my barn. I rarely have to even use fly masks. I begin mixing it in with their feed in mid March, depending on the spring weather in the North East, and gradually increase to full dose 2 x per day over a month's time. I don't want to test "fly fate" and be without for just to see, for even one season. Seems to decrease tick encounters also, but I still use fly spray to ride.

It helps deter the bugs, especially the little ones that bite inside the ears. I still find some ticks on my three horses, who are pastured, but not as many as before I started using it year round. I think it also boosts the immune system, as I have had fewer cases of Lyme disease. We live in the town next to Lyme, CT, for which the disease was named. However, there is nothing at all that stops the nasty deer flies from biting, except riding after dark during the summer when they are out!

These products are the best my son horses coat and hoofs are both in great condition and bug off garlic keeps flies off, the one horse use to shake her head all the time to keep the flies off her face but not now bug off, works wonderful. No more fly mask!

I have been using it for many years on my horses. And it works great! Less fly issues. This year is a very bad year for ticks, and my horses were covered, I started them on garlic in their food and put extra in their feed tray to lick and so far I am blessed to have the ticks under control. I just couldn't bring myself to put a pesticide on my horses. I also got a mineral salt block with garlic, I also have a salt and sulphur block in the barn, and the sulphur with garlic also is a added benefit to repel flies. I washed my horses with medicated shampoo, left it on a few minutes and you should have seen all these mini ticks come off!! My husband had a tick stuck in his chest, and I put vicks on it, left if sit a few minutes and the tick pull out head and all very easy. So it appears medicated shampoos is the way to go for ticks. The price is also reasonable by 2 get one free. I always liked that special. 2 orders usually get me through the summer into winter for 2 horses. I sure am glad they offer garlic!! not sure what I would do without it!
