A recruitment executive has been…

A recruitment executive has been sentenced to 15 months in prison for an appalling outburst that included threats of violence and racist insults directed at female cabin crew during an eight-hour flight.

Salman Iftikhar, a businessman of Pakistani descent based in London, was found guilty of making death threats and subjecting cabin crew to racist harassment.

The incident took place on a flight from Heathrow Airport to Lahore, Pakistan, in February 2023. While traveling in first class, Iftikhar directed terrifying threats towards crew member Angie Walsh, suggesting she would be forcibly taken from her hotel room, assaulted, and harmed.

One passenger recorded part of Iftikhar's misconduct, in which he repeatedly claimed Ms. Walsh had insulted him racially, alleging that she called him a derogatory term in front of other passengers.

The trouble began during meal service when Iftikhar, 37, began drinking champagne at the in-flight bar and foolishly reached over the counter to grab ice with his bare hands.

Flight attendants intervened, instructing him to return to his seat as his level of intoxication escalated. This led to a hostile response from Iftikhar, who charged the crew with racism.

He shouted accusations, insisting Ms. Walsh had humiliated him, proclaiming, "You called me a p-ki in front of everybody."

The situation further escalated as the passenger began filming the incident while Iftikhar hurled threats and refused to comply with crew instructions. “Don’t tell me what to do, you racist b**ch. I know where you’re from in Cardiff,” he yelled during the flight.
The flight crew quickly took notice of the escalating situation and turned on the seatbelt sign to try and soothe Iftikhar.

Reports from airline staff indicated that Iftikhar's speech was slurred, he was becoming aggressive, and he was loudly asserting his identity.

In an effort to defuse the situation, his wife approached the flight attendants at the food bar, but Iftikhar physically pushed her aside, insisting that she refrain from speaking to them.

Things took a serious turn when Iftikhar confronted male flight attendant Tommy Merchant, grabbing him and demanding that he be quiet.

The tension escalated further when Iftikhar threatened the crew, revealing specific hotel room numbers where they would be staying at the Avari Lahore Hotel.

He then made a deeply disturbing remark toward one of the flight attendants, using offensive language, and issued horrific threats against her.

Iftikhar shouted violent threats, claiming, "The white sheep s–ting b—ch will be dead. The floor of your hotel will be blown up, and it will disappear. You will be dragged by your hair from your room and gang-raped and set on fire."

Despite the severity of the situation, he was allowed to disembark the plane upon landing in Pakistan without arrest.

It wasn't until March 16, 2024, over a year later, that he was arrested at his $1.2 million home in England. Iftikhar later admitted to making threats and engaging in racial harassment against the flight attendant.

The aftermath of this encounter left the attendant traumatized, leading her to take a 14-month leave from work to heal.

In her victim impact statement, she shared, "I am a strong, brave, happy stewardess, and I loved my job. I am well known within the company. I have been flying with Virgin Atlantic for 37 years. I worked during 9/11 when all flights were grounded and even flew into warzones.

But this incident has broken me. After 37 years of an incredible flying career, I never felt so uncertain about what to do. He has taken that away from me."

Iftikhar was ultimately acquitted of assault and threats against flight attendant Tommy Merchant.

His LinkedIn profile indicates that he is the director and founder of the recruitment firm Staffing Match.

Avoid Staffing Match (run by Salman Iftikhar)

Staffing Match, operated by Salman Iftikhar, should be avoided at all costs. According to reports, Iftikhar was jailed in the UK after threatening to gang-rape and burn a flight attendant while drunk on a first-class flight from London to Lahore in 2023. His sentence was later tripled on appeal. Such behaviour raises serious concerns about the integrity, professionalism, and values of any business he runs. Companies or jobseekers should think twice before engaging with Staffing Match, given the founder’s criminal conduct and the reputational and ethical risks of association.

Dishonest, unprofessional and misleading – this agency should be investigated!

I had a very disappointing experience with Staffing Match, and I feel obligated to warn others. I was contacted by recruiter named Nicoleta, who offered me a job in Northampton (Monday - Friday 8am - 4.30pm shift) with an immediate start. She asked me to register online and provide my documents in person to their office. I did everything she asked. But the moment I handed over my documents in person, the story suddenly changed. Nicoleta then told me they needed to “confirm the start date with the client” and she would get back to me on Tuesday. That never happened. I followed up with message, but I was completely ignored. Before I registered, she was very responsive. Afterwards — complete silence. This is dishonest and highly unprofessional. It’s obvious now I was misled just so they could build their database of candidates.
To make things worse, when I visited their office, the staff were loudly chatting in Romanian in front of me and another women (British), making us both feel uncomfortable and unwelcome. The attitude in the office was far from professional — no greetings, no proper communication, and no sense of organisation. Even the other girl waiting said she felt like she was in the wrong place and questioned whether this was even a legitimate recruitment agency. The staff had no professionalism, no basic customer service, and absolutely no respect for the people walking through their doors.
It's clear from my experience (and after reading many other reviews) that Staffing Match often misleads job seekers with fake “immediate start” offers, only to register you and then ghost you. I will be reporting them to the Recruitment & Employment Confederation (REC) and the Employment Agency Standards Inspectorate (EAS) for misleading job adverts, poor conduct, ignoring candidates after registration and creating an uncomfortable and non-inclusive environment.
This kind of behaviour is deceptive, unethical, and a waste of people’s time.
Extremely disappointed. I would not recommend this agency to anyone looking for serious work.
👉 Someone in charge of this agency needs to read the growing number of negative reviews and take responsibility. This is not a one-off complaint — it’s a pattern of dishonest and disrespectful behaviour. Something needs to change!

Staffing Match ( Leeds) or they said it…

Staffing Match ( Leeds) or they said it was for Sherburn in Elmett.
Early stages of a brand new warehouse for H-lop pickers, training if you meet their great expectations!?!?
Did an interview via phone, told I'm more than suitable (yippee). Then told need to register online & send all personal details in!!
After this there would be a teams meeting online with really important movers & shakers, then after this a shuffle around this newly built warehouse!?!?
Must do a drugs & alcohol test - b4 shuffling (I think), probably so you don't trip on your shoe laces?
Well 3 - 4 weeks elapsed & I then got an email from another member of staff at 'Staffing Match ' - I thought it might be a delayed start etc!?
It was an email asking if I'd be interested in the H- lop picking job!?? Wasn't aware that I'd supposedly been put forward for this position already - nothing.
There seems to be 5 or 6 agencies all claiming to be recruiting for these amazing H - lop drivers/pickers at Sherburn in Elmett nr Leeds. This Staffing Match agency is an absolute scam, no jobs, ask you to jump through hoops & give them all private/personal information to start this promising new career!??
Don't fall for it, there isn't a job, middle of nowhere, don't catch a bus over there because you'll really be out of pocket! No apologies for being strung along, I turned down 2 other jobs thinking I was starting here.
Highly unprofessional, just another agency collecting peoples personal information for jobs that do not exist, so they get commission for you signing up for a non existent job. Give (Staffing Match Recruitment) a wide birth, there's nothing at the end of it!
I've just had to ask for my personal information back & account to be closed - just got a message saying it's done. No apologies, I'm going to check it's actually been deleted too.
These places want you to have everything to apply but give nothing in return, double check & then inform how bad they really are!! I'm glad I took a different position & didn't wait like 'Laura 'said to ' their induction is in 3 weeks ' course it is!!!

THEY DO NOT PAY YOU!

THEY DO NOT PAY YOU!
I want others to be aware, to avoid being conned.
THE MANAGER IS THE WORST KIND OF SNAKE IMAGINABLE - the kind of person that abuses power and is a decease of the world - he should be ashamed of himself but doesn't even realise, as he lacks the intellect, so I want to ensure others are not affected.

Warning

Warning! The manager is dishonest and disingenuous…they may not pay you, if they can get away with it. The manager is a snake, of the worst kind, in colloquial terms. Plenty of better agencies, this is a backstreet affair, a small and extremely poor agency, with crooked and disgusting staff.

they are not honest, they don`t pay

I worked for them, they do`t want to pay me, when I call they don`t answer , texts they don`t answer, emails they don`t answer, I see I am not the only one wich they did not pay. overtimes forget about it you will never be payed if you do`t complain and keep complaining, missing hours every single week. I am going to them but I didn`t found anyone, The day I will found someone I will make my anger cooldown.
don`t let them do it, make complain to Employment Tribunal it`s free. that the Tribunal will see that they do it for many people. they don`t deserve even 1 star

Ups and downs

Working at River Island was a fun yet an awful experience.
River island staff are friendly and helpful, unfortunately I cannot say the same about Staffing Match desk which is actually in the building. You would expect more help from them being there, but no. The lack of communication, language barrier ( English) it's extremely non-existent. Sending wrong messages to their employees about shifts availability and next day will send more asking where you are knowing that they cancelled that shift few hours previously. Never reply to their emails when you ask important questions. Don't have any values or emphaty for their employees. I wont recommend them to anyone!!

The sent me on paid assessment which is never paid and at last the cancel the job for no reason. forget the job the kept and never given back my Certificates which I paid for. The worst recruitment agency to waste time on.
