Stanley blades - We are a textile manufacturing company
We are a textile manufacturing company,
After decades of using Stanley trimming blades, we have had to move on to another make. The Stanley blades are really poor quality now, they are blunt after the very first use, I presume these now come from China or India; wherever they come from, they are total rubbish.
The Fat max blades are also poor.
This is just another instance of the customer paying more for a cheaper product.
Don’t buy from Stanley
I brought a Stanley fatmax strimmer and registered it for the warranty which was then extended to 3 years . I brought it from tool station. I have purchased Stanley products for many years but up until yesterday had never needed to make a warranty claim. I would advise anyone to steer clear of Stanley products because although you activate your warranty with proof of purchase, when you come to claim on the warranty they want to see proof of purchase again?? How many customers can provide this? Get out clause for Stanley .
I will never give them another penny of my hard earned cash.
STANLEY FATMAX 18V DRILL
STANLEY FATMAX 18v drill: Good robust design, good value and solid . Sadly I tried to buy a replacement battery and charger from Toolstation, but Stanley had changed the design of the new FatMax 18v model apparently and it was not compatible with my older model FatMax 18v model. WHY DO COMPANIES DO THIS?? IT IS INSANE. If your going to use the same model name , please keep the design parameters the same for parts . You will not force customers to buy a new drill, they will change to another manufacturer who has the good sense to keep there products serviceable with spares remaining consistent with original design parameters.!!!!!
I purchase a Stanley Fatmax V20 Tyre…
I purchase a Stanley Fatmax V20 Tyre Inflator, No Menu, No Power Button, Trigger Activated, i can only use Bar & not PSi, KPA, no auto shut off as mentioned in description. So this item is not as decribed.
I’m really disappointed with this…
I’m really disappointed with this Stanley toolbox. The plastic feels cheap, and after only light, normal use it snapped like it was made to break. I wasn’t overloading it or abusing it—just carrying basic tools—and the body/handle area cracked and gave way.
What’s the point of a toolbox if it can’t handle being picked up and moved? Now I’m stuck with a broken box, tools that don’t stay secure, and a product I don’t trust to carry anything heavier than a screwdriver.
I expected much better durability from Stanley. I wouldn’t recommend this toolbox to anyone who needs something reliable for daily work or even basic home use.
Stanley...have you done ???
I have used stanley blades for donkeys years.. only now I'm better off using my teeth to cut through anything!!!
They are blunt after cutting just one plasterboard.. absolutely useless..
So stanley... get your quality back or go under...
STANLEY FATMAX SELECT PRO SERIES…
STANLEY FATMAX SELECT PRO SERIES utility knife. What a joke of a company. Decades in the tool industry and can’t make a simple contraption like the blade retractor on the utility knife’s work. I only lightly used the knife for one day.£15 for one day is unacceptable. Money grabbing company, avoid. Stick to a solid un-retractable utility knife
Never again will I purchase a Stanley tool
Never again will I purchase a Stanley tool.
We have been purchasing Stanley tools for many years as I believed them to be a reliable brand. In January 2025 I bought a plastering spatula which has already snapped in half. On calling Stanley tools UK to request a replacement I spoke to a very aggressive customer service gentleman who firstly advised that I should that accept that it was almost out of warranty anyway and then said it was not their responsibility but the retailers to replace it! On further questioning he said if I could be bothered to pay the cost of returning such a low cost item they would look at it under the terms of the warranty and might offer a replacement. His whole manner was appalling throughout the call, he constantly talked over me and was not prepared to offer any helpful advice.
Website is ridiculous!
Website is ridiculous!
Trying to register a tool is an absolute nightmare.
Should be simple........register details & create account. Register tool.
Asking for numbers that aren't available. Contacted them via phone......unable to help......why.....register it to the account already created & do your customers a favour been as your website is crap!.
amazing experience
their tool kit is mega, has everything you need in a box and can build anything from boxes to sheds to treehouses, I don't care if your a chef or a gamer or never build at all, just buy Stanley tool kits for Pete's sake
Great quality tools at the mid price…

Fantastic customer service
Fantastic customer service. Bought the Black Professional socket set years ago.
19mm socket cracked, called the number on the box.
They got my name and address, the part number, and two days later I had the replacement. Awesome customer service.
Terrible
Terrible. Not only did they steal my brand new battery from my jigsaw that was sent back to them to be repaired after 2 weeks purchase from argos and replace a dud one in my jigsaw and sent back to me. But I purchased a brand-new cordless jigsaw from them that comes with two rechargeable batteries and both batteries are duds. I mean come on, why are you doing this to honest customers that buy your products. I can't use my cordless new drill now as of your dud batteries. Disgusting to be honest. I have spent over a thousand pounds buying stanley tools over the past 3 years and this dud battery thing is becoming a regular occurrence. Not impressed. Won't be buying anything else from you that's for sure. Can't tske back to the store as not got the receipt anymore. So pretty stuffed. Please dont buy from Stanley. Go elsewhere to save all the hassle.
Be wary of the Stanley 70440-0 staple gun
From Wickes bought a 70440-0 light weight staple gun and, hanging adjacent to it in the store, some Stanley 6mm staples which I assumed were for the stapler. Attempting to install the staples was difficult - the feeder wouldn't readily fit into the staples though with some effort it did. Nevertheless the stapler would not eject any staples. The gun action worked fine and the blade moved as you would expect. I returned the two items to Wickes who refunded the purchase amount. Could it be that this is a Wickes Bedford 'display' problem - putting incompatible items next to each other or has Stanley acquired a batch of undersized 6mm staples or did I get a bad stapler with an out of tolerance, oversized feeder / loader bar? Either way it was a big nuisance as I don't live near the store.
This company is selling damaged product…
This company is selling damaged product and when you are complaining they say is it not their product (it was produced under license and is not their responsibility)
Never ever again a product from Black & Decker or Stanley…
Looking at the reviews I am not they only one with a bad experience…
I'm not sure they care about their customers but persistence pays off!
For the best part of 50 years I have bought Stanley tools. Generally, they have performed as expected and I was reasonably happy with the brand.
However, in October 2022 I bought a Stanley FatMax Combination Drill Driver from B&Q in Blackburn. This was a backup machine to my Worx Drill Driver which had given good service but the chuck was loosening when reverse (anticlockwise) was selected.
I only used the Stanley a couple of times on one battery (it was supplied with 2) and it seemed fine, that was until I tried the second battery which was completely dead and would not take any charge even overnight. I checked online and saw that the cost of a replacement battery was around £50.00 but not from Stanley? It appeared a new model of battery was on sale.
Being sold with a 3-year warranty and now not up to the job, I contacted Stanley Customer Service only to be fobbed off.
1. I hadn’t sent them the invoice…yes I had!
2. They sent me a list of requirements…name, address, type of tool, serial number copy invoice, email address etc etc etc, which I answered straight away with photographs as evidence.
3. Then they said they were closing the case as they hadn’t heard from me.
4. Guess how I replied to that one, YES with a copy of the previous email.
5. Then they said the battery only had a 1-year warranty and wasn’t made any more.
6. They even told me to buy a different battery, charger and “adapter” to fit my machine…ARE THEY COMPLETELY BONKERS…answers on a postcard!
I can produce all the rubbish emails from them.
QUESTION – How dishonest is it to sell a machine in October 2022 that cannot be used in July 2025, and no backup at all from Stanley.
As another reviewer said “Ruined my faith in your company in an instant”. I completely agree with this sentiment.
This is what Stanley says about it’s products “We’re proud of our reputation for excellence and are dedicated to continually testing, designing, and improving our products to ensure quality and maximum function. Maintaining our standing as the world's best at what we do is vital to us and what you expect from a name like STANLEY.”
Sorry STANLEY, you should make products which are robust, tested, fit for purpose, and have longevity. You should address customers service requests, warranty claims and DEAL WITH complaints in a fair manner. I won’t be buying any of your products in the future.
I bet you won’t even bother to reply to this review!!
UPDATE 31st July 2025. After countless emails trying to get some sense out of Junnavel Intela (STANLEY® TOOLS) I have given up on this company for good! The only suggestions was that I buy a battery that DOES NOT FIT the FatMax combo drill, then BUY A NEW CHARGER (as the existing one wont fit the new battery) and then I have to BUY AN ADAPTER so that the new battery will work on the drill. TOTAL COST OF EXTRAS £85.00. They must be off their rockers if they think that is a solution. Why did they sell a drill that was obsolete within 3 years. The mind boggles. I will be staying well clear of Stanley Tools from now on. Oh and apparently they have a tie up with Black and Decker...so that's another one crossed off my list of suppliers.
FURTHER UPDATE. I searched my emails to find that I registered in Oct 22. Guess what... they tell me my registration is not recognised. What a company!!! FURTHER UPDATE. 7th August 2025. After much negotiation and contact with senior management, Stanley have now sent me a replacement part "as a gesture of goodwill". I am grateful to both the MD at Stanley Tools and Mr Phil Moore UK & ROI After Sales Manager, for taking on board my comments and resolving the issue. It is a shame that I had to climb so far up the corporate ladder to achieve a result when I understood the drill was under warranty. Anyhow I have upgraded the star rating.
No Stanley service
I purchased a Stanley Fat Max Hedger approx 4 years ago.
The Hedger worked fine while it was working however earlier this year the Hedger itself malfunctioned. This is normal however I have discovered that I am unable to get parts first this Hedger nor can I get it repaired. I have been too recommended Stanley service centres only to be told that there are no parts available to fix this.
The entire outfit including battery and charger cost me in excess of $600. Not being able to have repaired is beyond belief really as this is a lot of money for me. It wasn't under warranty and I wasn't expecting warranty.
I have emailed Stanley support on numerous occasions requesting information on where I can get a replacement Hedger but I am getting no answer to my question.
I have searched online and cannot find a replacement.
Stanley Fatmax speed drive ratchet…
Stanley Fatmax speed drive ratchet screwdriver. False advertising shows SIX bits and an extension tube. You get THREE bits and NO tube !!. The rotation sticks at one point, seems it's not parallel to the body. The supplied bits are often difficult to insert, crunchy not smooth insertion and once in rattle backwards and forwards. The bit holder is a complete fail. Either difficult to get bits in or they fall out !. It sometimes jams inside the body too, maybe why they removed the extra three bits and extension !. Stanley UK support worthless, ignored my request for missing bits and extension, only suggesting I send the driver back !?!?. Not even part numbers supplied for missing bits and extension tube. POOR.
I have been trying to buy Stanley…Stanley SXWTD-FT505 25 kg Folding Basket - Yellow
I have been trying to buy a Stanley " SXWTD-FT505 25 kg Folding Basket - Yellow", but it seems to be an impossible job unless I'm happy to wait until Sept 2005-Jan 2006 on Amazon. Even tried Ebay who's two sellers are selling at crazy prices & crazy PP. Tried B&Q, Srewfix and even other so called Stanley sellers in the UK ( I live in Belfast ). All my tools are Stanley but finding something as simple as the Stanley basket is very poor by Stanley.
I'll think twice after my stewd brain would even consider buying anything more from Stanley.
I wish I could give them a zero.I…
I wish I could give them a zero.I emailed their parts department,as I required apart for a quick grip clamp only to be told that I had to find it myself on the web,he told me after a couple of emails that have been discontinued and it was no longer in production.so I wasted a hell of a lot of time and effort trying to obtain the accessory pads when there was no chance I could ever do it.there's obviously a floor in the accessory.so in this day and age we should be making tools to last not making them to fail!!!!!customer service is so crap that they havent even bothered to answer my last complaint¬!!!and they didn't care that I threaten to put it on Trust pilot!!so don't buy any of their tools because you won't get the accessories you want or need ....so maybe protesters should March on Stanley Black & Decker and dwalt just to make sure that they pull the finger out and protect the environment!!!!Case ID 02850111and I also asked them to ring me instead of letting me do a lengthy email as I am very dyslexic ,discriminate much
