Mixed review

Firstly, the positives.
The platinum caravan was spotless.

The entertainment team did a great job.
Great facilities for kids.

Now the negatives.

Lots of dog poo around the site.

Food at the cafe very expensive for what we got.
Lots of loud and obnoxious families causing trouble.

The pool area wasn't particularly clean and very few changing rooms.

Some staff unpleasant.

Wouldn't recommend or return.

Entertainment and staff are the best

Booked a wheelchair accessible caravan for the retro weekend, party of 6 ladies, 2 are wheelchair users. We Ate at the cafe on site and the staff and food were great. Very welcoming and friendly only too happy to help. Unfortunately my daughter had a cluster of seizures whilst in there the first time, needing her emergency meds which worked so no ambulance needed. A member of Staff popped over to check everything was ok without causing a fuss which we really appreciated.
The accessibility in the caravan was perfect and the place was immaculate (thanks Julie who left a note).
The entertainment and staff were honestly the best, I’ve had lots of experience up and down the uk with caravan sites and this is one of the best quality for entertainment.

A fantastic place to stay

A fantastic place to stay, we travelled from Wf11 and had the best stay. The entertainment was great the staff were all friendly and kind nothing was too much for anyone.

The entire place was lovely and clean including the swimming pool sauna and steam room, the only "down side" we found was there wasn't quite enough changing rooms for the amount of people going swimming on certain days some days we were in and out, others we had to stand and wait for a cubicle

The cafe was well priced and the food we had was delicious and served quickly.

the small arcade was just enough for my girls ages 9 and 5 and the bowling was a lovely addition

Just got back home having spent a week…

Just got back home having spent a week with the grandkids for Halloween absolutely amazing entertainment was fantastic staff amazing been going here for 44 years and it just gets better every time if you haven’t been there I definitely recommend it it’s got everything you need 🤩👏👏👏

Stayed on the touring site in our van

Stayed on the touring site in our van, pitch very small was supposedly a super pitch !!
The people around us must have known each other as they all sat around each other's caravans, felt like we were in a traveler's park. Very noisy up till early hour's music playing and a lot of shouting due to the amount of drink consumed. Pools good, cafe food poor and very little entertainment for 8 year old 😢 site clean would not go back to this site again

THE MOST AMAZING PARK!

We recently stayed at stanwix park Monday-Friday in our touring caravan, we had the most amazing time from start to finish. Customer service was exceptional from every single member of staff, prices were very reasonable, facilities and toilet blocks were always spotless and cleaners were in multiple times per day. Food at the cafe was gorgeous, entertainment was amazing every single night. Cannot wait to come back, I really did not want to come home! Would recommend stanwix to anyone and everyone!

Had many of great holidays here and…

Had many of great holidays here and will continue to do so. Prices have increased but then they have everywhere. Staff are brilliant and friendly and site has everything needed to keep the little ones happier. Only downfall is the soft play area could do with beinguch bigger.

Avoid Stanwix if you can

Here now £1000 for a van for the week, pools packed with locals using them, what a rip off, even the staff commenting on "too many being allowed in" couldn't get near the pool party with the kids yesterday, rammed with people paying at the door, inside the complex is filthy, smashed windows duct taped up!
Never again, absolute disgrace.

Just returned for a 4 day break

Just returned for a 4 day break. Booked a pet friendly apartment which was spotless. We got a letter from SP a week before we travelled advising what was and wasn't open and a phone number to book a slot at the pool.
Also they included a list of items they had removed from the accommodation so make it safer re covid restrictions so if we needed to pack these item we could.
The park is lovely and a great base for the Lakes.
I genuinely don't know understand what some of the complaints here are about. We had no issues whatsoever. We had to email reception twice and they responded within the hour in a friendly professional manner.
Yes the entertainment was very restricted but understandable but theres always the option of entertaining yourself and considering most parks we've been to charge a fortune for passes we found even without nightly shows etc thia was excellent value for money.
I honestly can not find fault with the park its accommodation or its staff and we are looking forward to our next visit, hopefully we will get some better weather and use of the out door pool.

JOKE OF A PLACE!!!!

I would not even give this place 1 star... Absoloute joke of a place and the customer service is appalling!! They completely ignore your calls emails ect. We stayed for a weekend from 10th august!! We payed nearlu £500 for 3 nights stay in a 3 bed caravan the caravan was ok nice layout but it was disgusting inside bathroom was minging dirty shower with hairs and sand left there and the plastic tip from a razor!!! One of the bed sheets had blood stains on which personally i think is shocking i totally get accidents happen when it comes to blood etc on sheets but this should habe been binned not plesent to sleep on something like that at all!! Then one of the quilts itself had loads and i mean loads of dirty stains on i know all off this because you actually have to make all the beds up yourself so they just dumped all the sheets quilts covers pillows etx on the bed and leave you to make them up i dont mind this but for the price i think it's disgracefull!!! Also there was nothing at all to do!! No entertainment!! The swimming pool was always full booked so couldn't even go there and the same for the outdoor pool they were only letting certain amount off people in at a time!! We again could not all get in there which was not fair!! We basically spent nearly £500 to hire a carvan for 3 nights thats it because the bar was a rubbish atmosphere, we couldnt use the pools and thats literally all you could do apart from the park there but again that was a nightmare of a place as there was loads of older kids left to their own devices being stupid swearing and throwing bark off each other!! They were constantly using the swings so my little one couldn't even use it!! It is safe to say that i will NEVER EVER EVER be returning to this site and i will be telling everyone i know also never to go there its a complete and utter waste of money!!! Ah yes one more thing i totally understand covid 19 guidelines etc but i personally believe this thing about taking essentials away from the caravans is ridiculous so you basically had no brush or hoover to clean up crap that was on the floor you had to bring your own!! You had 1 stupid little pan and 4 glasses and cups when there was 5 off us its a god damn disgrace!!

Shame on you Stanwix Park

Shame on you Stanwix Park, Silloth (SP) you have clearly demonstrated that whilst i’ve been going to SP several times a year for over 10 years and have always loved it however there recent behaviour in dealing with the covid 19 situation has demonstrated there complete disregard to there customers.

I like many others were booked to go to SP for a week over the Easter period at a cost of £257. I also had two further bookings with them for October and New Year. With regards to my Easter booking I received a letter advising me that due to covid19 they were cancelling my booking and sent me a voucher for £257 which had to be re-deemed by 31.12.2020. I tried to contact them several times in respect of this but received no replies as the site was closed.

However recently on Face Book SP started to post pictures of there two mascots and videos of someone driving around there park.

I and many others replied to there
posts on Face Book and asked them if they were able to post videos then someone surely should be replying to customers concerns and queries. They were also still contacting customers to cancel further booking and issuing credit notes so someone clearly had access to there booking system.

I’ve received no further correspondence or calls from SP in connection with my cancelled booking however today when checking my bank I discovered that not only had they refunded the money paid for my Easter booking but also the monies I had paid for the two other bookings. Whilst I’m happy to receive the refund for Easter to then have them cancel my further bookings with no explanation is totally unacceptable and disgusting customer service. I can only assume that they have done this because I had the audacity to query there initial decision to issues vouchers.

Shame on you SP you have clearly demonstrated that whilst you have customers who have been loyal to you over the years you have no loyalty what so ever to your customers.

Stanwix Park Holiday Centre In Silloth

I booked 2 holidays with these 3 brothers Stanwix Graham, Roland and Steven, because of the current Covid-19 Pandemic they closed both their sites in Silloth, i have asked repeatedly for my refunds and have been totally ignored. I have e mailed, phoned and written them letters all to no avail. they are totally ignoring me, i have reported them to Trading Standards. Also on my last visit to their Stanwix Park site i used there cafe for a breakfast, no sooner had it been put down in front of me when i saw a long blonde hair sticking out of the side of my breakfast plate. I got up to report it and from the counter you can see inside their kitchen area, there were 4 young girls in their, long hair flowing, no hair nets, no gowns or gloves on but they were handlig and preparing food !!. I also found out that back in the 90s a man was actually MURDERED on their Stanwix Park site, i found this on Google after looking for information on the brothers Stanwix !!. I will never use this site again or any other site affiliated with these 3 con men brothers and would advise anybody booking up with them to check out their refund policy by telephone but make sure you record the entire conversation as i dont trust these 3 one bit.....Here Endeth The Lesson..........Finally received my refund this morning from Stanwix Park, in the letter they say i was not told i would not receive a refund, which is a total lie as on the day i received the e mail saying they were closing their sites in Silloth i mmediately phoned Stanwix Park, asked them for my refund and was told they are giving out holiday vouchers, i told them i wanted a refund but was told by the girl on the phone they are not dealing with refunds only holiday vouchers so father and 2 brothers Stanwix get your facts straight. Also you say you have taken my £80 deposits and YOU have decided to donte said £80 to The Catterick Garrison Injured Soldiers Fund which i do not have a problem with but i will want to see proof that such a donation has been made, i know you read this review so please send me proof of said donation or i will report you again to Trading Standards.
