I have always found the staff at Manchester fantastic, cant do enough for you. Today I tried to purchase a King Size electric blanket made by Carmen. It was not on the floor so I asked for help. All I can say is wow, so kind, patient and helpful in locating the item, brilliant. Thanks

Speaking as a former employee

Speaking as a former employee, the staff on store will do everything they can to help, but management is a different story, current manager who is Steven Brady, is a dictator, bullies all his staff, why most managers are now female, John Kerr, assistant manager is a genuine guy, but what Steven says goes, always moving people about depts, condensing depts and staffing with people whom have no knowledge of products over the full store, highly advise stax as a store, but stay away from Glasgow, I also contacted citizens advice on my dismissal and was told I had a case of discrimination, but did not know that claim had to be made within 3 months of dismissal, but this happens constantly, everyone else is too afraid to lose there jobs, make your own minds up from that

This is really the stupidest store in…

This is really the stupidest store in the world. They only sell to trade, fair enough. But if your trade person decides not to return your calls you are unable to get additional supplies - for example if you need extra flooring, you have to find someone who is a member. Women aren't allowed to take their handbags into the store (Considering that they only sell building supplies etc, I don't see how I could squeeze a bag of cement into my bag. Some business models are just poor and stupid - and this one is a prime example. I called them up and they weren't even able to recommend a builder to me who was also a member so I had to go and shop elsewhere.Stupid is as stupid does!!!!

issue with pricing

We have been using this cash and carry for some years and have spent thousands with them over our 2 businesses, we have had the odd issue but nothing major until our Christmas 2020 visit, as well as other stock items we purchased 2 large items for use with the business as apposed to sellable stock. The first was a saw workbench, 4 products all identical (I know as my other half checked all 4 products as a couple had dinted boxes) over 2 shelves top and middle, in-between was a pink offer price 99.99, the other item was a Christmas tree with a hand wrote price saying "clearance 89.99" and the original price crossed out, this was a demo tree and the new boxed ones were underneath, when we got home I checked the invoices and found the workbench had been charged at £115 and the tree 99.99, I rang about the overcharge which I thought "no problem, they will realise there error and just credit us the difference" this is when the problems started, I was told someone would ring about the workbench as we had a different one to the offer price one (the call never came) and they argued the tree price was correct even sending a photo of the tree the following day, trouble was the hand written sign had gone and a different one with the higher price was now on it? a conversation took place regarding a customer purchasing the demo one but we could not tell from the photo if this was the same tree but what we knew was this was a different price sign to the one we had seen on the tree we purchased, on our next visit we noted the workbench now had 2 prices on the shelf with 2 different workbenches and we had purchased the dearer one, it was obvious they had on our prior visit sold out of the cheaper one but took the wrong shelf price of leaving the cheaper label but the higher price product, I have been made to feel I am seeing things despite us standing in front of the Christmas tree for 10 minutes talking to another couple while looking at the price of 89.99, no-one has even tried to help it's a case of that's the price, tough, we have no option but to continue to use this wholesaler as we have no others near by but I now make sure if we buy a big item we take a picture of the product and price and check the prices during check out as they have no loyalty to customers even when the pricing is there error they will not admit to it. Ideally they should have admitted there mistake and refunded the difference but at the very least it would have done me if they had said "it looks like we priced them up incorrectly, we are sorry about that, if you would like to return the products we are happy to refund in full", to be honest we would have kept the products anyway for the sake of £25, but this is about how we were made to feel, a sorry goes a long way

A great place for trade purchases. Returns are long winded but they have a lot of stock and open 7 days - recommended
