We hired Katie Haynes (Stay Studios) to shoot two London flats based on a detailed creative brief calling for editorial, lifestyle-inspired photography. Katie claimed this was her area of expertise and assured us we were a perfect fit.

Unfortunately, the results told a different story: the photos were flat, grey, poorly colour-balanced, and showed obvious lens distortion. One property didn’t even receive the number of images promised. Key creative directions — discussed on a Zoom call and sent in writing — were simply ignored.

Worse, when we raised these issues, rather than offering edits or resolution, Katie disengaged and had a solicitor respond to shut down the conversation. She also refused to provide the flattened TIFF or PSD files that were agreed, giving technically incorrect reasons (e.g. that TIFFs are 1GB+ in size each — they’re not).

Finally, she published the photos of the properties online without permission, despite being explicitly asked to remove them. All in all, an incredibly disappointing and unprofessional experience. Would not recommend.

I hired Katie Haynes (Stay Studios) to photograph two London properties. I provided a detailed brief requesting editorial-style, lifestyle-inspired images — clean, warm, inviting, and aligned with boutique hotel brands. Katie explicitly said this was her speciality and that we were a great fit.

What I received was the opposite: dull, flat-toned images, heavy lens distortion, inconsistent colour, and a failure to follow basic composition or styling guidance. One property didn’t even receive the 30 promised images.

Despite requesting flattened TIFF or PSD files in advance (and again during the shoot), Katie later refused to provide them, citing false technical reasons (e.g. “TIFFs are 1GB+” — they’re not). Rather than address the issues, she disengaged and had a solicitor send me a defensive letter, denying any responsibility.

To make matters worse, she published images of my private properties on her website and social media without my permission, despite being asked to take them down.

This experience was unprofessional, evasive, and completely lacking in accountability. I trusted her because she was recommended by a respected community — a mistake I won’t repeat. I would strongly advise others to avoid using her services. If you expect quality, clarity, or integrity, look elsewhere.
