They are refusing my refund and…

They are refusing my refund and claiming I've played more than 2 hours. The refund is for a DLC. I will dispute the charge with my bank
Later edit: the worst customer support, they are replying with a template message and closing the ticket instantly. After Boeing a loyal customer, I've decided to move to epic games, Steam does not deserve loyal customers.

False refund policy

The digital download of the Baldurs Gate 3 was not as described and I didn't use it. The Steam has a policy for refund in 14 days or less than 2 hours of usage. The Steam denied to issue the refund and alleged that I used the game for more than 2 hours. That is very weird because I submitted refund request the same day of download and I didn't play the game at all.

Unable to purchase Steam Deck, no support

I'm new to Steam, not new to Valve. I have been trying to purchase a Steam Deck for days. PayPal doesn't work. My card doesn't work. Gift Cards are only 20GBP in my local shops and no more than ten can be sold to a customer "to avoid scams". My other card, once the money was transferred to that account, doesn't work. Support doesn't seem to be an option. I post to the forum, no replies from anyone. I then figure out how to contact Steam support and their response after half a day is to try another payment method. I have no other payment method, I tell them, I've tried four different methods. I get another response saying the same, try another payment method, and I'm told I won't be able to reuse the payment methods that have failed as, I presume, they're blocked from further use. The ticket was closed straight after this second response and I can no longer purchase the Steam Deck or contact support. Useless, horrible company, horrible customer service. Well, there's one less sale for yourselves. Even if I could, why would I want to purchase a handheld game console from you now, when support can't be relied upon if any other problems arise?

Customer of 15+ years and won't refund me

I've used Steam for 15+ years and spent hundreds if not thousands of pounds on their service. I recently bought the atrocity that is Football Manager 2026 whilst on holiday, played it for 40 mins then couldn't tolerate it any longer. I enjoyed the rest of my holiday then forgot to get in touch within the two week refund period. They won't refund me a penny, despite the fact it's still less than two hours playtime. I've played every FM and CM in history and bought the last 10+ via Steam. This game is the problem, yet Steam are using it to screw up their relationship with loyal customers. Utterly baffling. I will be using Epic Games Store going forward.

Steam ruins Call of Duty games

I have Most of the Call of Duty games purchased on disc with valid keys. At first I lost all the WW2 games which I assume was due to an upgrade to Windows 10.I have all MW1 to 4 and Black Ops 1 to 3, all played perfectly well without steam. Now I have to reinstall from steam despite owning valid discs. Everything seems fine for a while then games refuse to load or even disappear from my library and I can' reload from my discs. Games I have paid in total hundreds of pounds for, enjoyed playing before steam now are unavailable. Even on Steam I've racked up hundreds of hours playing these game now I can't access them

Not sure you can call this customer service

I wont labour the point of every other comment here.
Customer service is abysmal.

Tried to return fm26 due to match engine issues. Was told that if you play morethan 2 hours you can't get a refund. No season ever started in less than 2 hours.

DO NOT USE STEAM for anything

DO NOT USE STEAM for anything. Customer service is automated. I bought BO7 as a working man. Played it few evenings last week. Almost every single play i crash and kicked out of game. RTX5090, 192GB RAM, 990 Pro SSD etc
Asked for refund because it is unplayable, my logged crashes prove that. Any progress gets wiped by crash. Steam automated said no, refunds only up to 2 hours.
PAYPAL also DO NOT Refund digital transactions. Never again using stream or paypal.

Only direct purchase off company with credit card is only way protected.

Heartless, Deaf Ear's STEAM

In 2024 I had a Game that was bought in an account. I kept the Account but change the password and the email so i could easily remember my own easy email.
I have played and updated the game now for 18 months.
But a few days ago ,when entering my account ,Steam asked for a code again that was sent to my email.
Surprise ,Surprise it didn't arrive.
Contacting the "as they call it" customer services. they told me for them to give me the account back i need the first ever email "this is after a 18 months ago" I told them i had changed the email 18 months ago ,and that i didn't have that information and that they should know this ,by how hard it is to do so.
after 3 days of me telling dates and the game etc. They closed me down, Game gone. Game history gone, Game saves gone.
after 18 months playing the game and updating it ,they ask for a email i changed it from? why? why now?
Steam is great, that is until you have a problem.
I'd give them no stars but you can't

In-game offer

In-game offer, go to steam page, offer is there. Take full amount of money without any confirmation and then when complain to steam they say "tough". Photo provided as evidence and they don't care.

Major issues signing in.

Major issues signing in.. Trying to download a modpack for a game. Won't let me do it, asks me to sign in despite being signed in. Try to sign in, refuses to recognise my password, despite having reset twice and used to log in!!! Then it tells me I'm logged in. Almost impossible to find a human via the support pages.

Frustrating experience and no support

My experience was overwhelmingly negative. Simple issues turned into days of waiting, only to be met with unhelpful automated replies. Nothing was resolved, and support felt completely absent. I expected far better from such a large platform, but instead I was left stuck, ignored, and unable to use what I paid for.
