Consistent customer since the mid 70's
I've done business with Stew Mac since the mid 70's. They've always had great products and great service. My first purchase was a "Model 99" banjo kit. I still have that banjo. I've bought lots of banjo parts from them, and recently have bought guitar wood, tools and an amp kit from them.
At any rate, I've had very few problems with orders during this extended time, and in those few cases the problems were resolved very quickly.
Stew Mac is pretty much the "last one standing" of the companies I bought from in the 70's and 80's. Glad they're still around.

No other Lutherie Supplier can equal…
No other Lutherie Supplier can equal the offerings Stewmac brings to the table BUT, I hate the subscription model you’ve adopted, with it’s annual membership fees. That’s probably a non-issue for folks that make a living working on or building instruments, but for the hobbyists I find it to be a barrier to doing business with Stewmac. I look for alternatives, because I find Stewmac usually to be the high-price option, whereas I can usually find cheaper alternatives if I just do a little shopping around. I guess convenience and one-stop shopping gives Stewmac a leg up on the competition, but in this tariff driven economy I need to find the best overall value for my hard earned dollars, so I shop around.
