Stillwater Skin & Medspa has permanently scarred my face.

A year and a half ago, my upper lip was burned by a laser tech at Stillwater Skin. The tech used a setting that was too high, and then swiped the laser across the vermillion border of my lip.

On 12/24/2026, I had an appointment with my family physician of 20 years, Dr. Stannard, which happens to be Stillwater Med Sap's medical director. He referred me to a therapist to get help with this unfortunate experience.

Dr. Stannard has been compassionate since the first day we met regarding my scar. He said, and I quote,"I'm sorry Stillwater Skin didn't acknowledge your experience. I realize that's hurtful." I'm going to add that Stillwater Skin lied about what happened to me
multiple times.

They reported to the public many times I never sat down with their medical director. False. They told the public this was an unjust situation where they were being targeted when they did nothing wrong.False. On top of that, they told other businesses to remain vigilant in similar situations. Cruel. They reported to the BBB I asked them for free laser treatments on my upper lip to add to the treatments on my lower body. False. They also told the BBB I was writing negative reviews, harassing them and they have contacted their lawyer. I spoke the truth; the truth is always a defense against wrongdoing.Lastly, they informed the BBB I threatened I'd write a negative review online if they didn't refund me.False. I left a negative review on google because they scarred my face. It is my duty to inform the public so this doesn't happen to anybody else. These are just some of the lies they wrote, there were more.

Stillwater Skin violated my HIPPA rights numerous times by publicly posting my medical history. I could sue them for HIPPA violations, medical negligence and pain and suffering, which I haven't done as of yet. They told the BBB they contacted their lawyer. My response to that is if I ever decide to take this to the courts, they better have a good lawyer because they're going to need one. Interesting to note, their medical director told me I could always contact a lawyer.

Stillwater Skin never apologized to me, not the laser tech or the owner, Amy Haugen. Instead they called me a liar, treated me unbelievably cruel and showed zero compassion. Their defense had always been I never came back to see them. I am not required to go back to the place that scarred my face. I followed the correct procedures by first meeting with their medical director and completing the first line of treatment. When that failed, I met with multiple doctors in various fields of medicine to get their opinion.

For those that read my review, they should let their friends and family know what happened to me. It is our responsibility, as members of the community, to inform the public when wrongdoings occur and if one's experience is with a business that lacks the professionalism to address those situations appropriately. Mistakes and mishaps are part of life. How you deal with mistakes and mishaps when they occur reflects your true character.

The response from the owner of Stillwater Skin to my one star review may have been more detrimental to their business than the negative review itselt. In this sense, Stillwater failed miserably. They were very cruel to me through this whole process. For that, they don't deserve any business from our community.

Now, I will start the next chapter of this journey.Hopefully, in time, therapy will provide me with the necessary tools to use everyday so I can stop focusing on my scar. I need to learn how to live with a scar on my face so it doesn't consume my life.

In closing, I'm reminded of something my mother always told me, "You can do it to some of the people some of the time, but you can't do it to all the people all the time. If you fall for everything, you won't stand for anything."

God Bless,

Cheryl Blaha
