Sensitive handling of a financial settlement in a divorce
Heidi took the time to understand the specifics of my relationship breakdown / cause of the divorce, and gave really instructive advice early on to help me consider how to approach making a financial settlement. In particular, she was very informed about agreeing business assets being split and pension sharing of a public sector pension in the civil service. She kept my details safe when she suspected my email had been hacked by my ex husband, and recommended a safer email address so the details of the case were kept private to me. There was coercive control involved and I was able to explain how this impacted the case and she represented me with that in mind.
She was able to give balanced views and options when negotiations reached stalemate, suggesting pros and cons of next steps available to me. I reached a financial settlement relatively swiftly after that and am content with the outcome. I would recommend Heidi Fleming for her expertise in managing a divorce sensitively where business assets, home and pensions are involved. (We were able to agree childcare arrangements privately between ourselves but she was astute to the links between childcare agreements in a Parenting Plan and associated financial implications). Heidi responds very quickly to emails / calls and remembers the case very clearly and is well versed in the law surrounding financial consent orders being approved by a Court. Mine was approved quickly with no queries thanks to her detailed commentary on a vaguely drafted consent order prepared by the other side's solicitor. We also successfully turned over their claim to over half the house capital and a bid to block applying for child maintenance.

Cohabitation matters
I had my first meeting with Heidi Fleming to discuss my cohabitation dispute after the previous solicitor I had been speaking to had left the firm. She made me feel very comfortable within the first minute of the teams call. She explained everything in layman's terms so I understood my rights and my standing in the dispute. Heidi was extremely knowledgeable about all aspects and had taken the time to read my prior notes so I did not have to explain the situation again. She was very supportive and understanding of the situation and made me feel like there was someone on my side who would fight for me. I was nervous going into the meeting but I felt very positive coming out of it and knowing what the next steps will be.

I got in contact with Stowe Family Law late in 2025, when it felt like my world was falling apart due to the a relocation issue.
The whole team at Stowe Family Law were kind, compassionate and empathetic throughout the last 10 months, however Zoe Cross who had my case was outstanding.
