I am just completing the NZ north island tour with Stray and we were provided with the guide Michael Jones who has been awesome. He has made the tour into a trip of a lifetime and has conbined a sense of fun with the serious regarding safety within the tour. I have enjoyed the trip so much and instead of booking an Asian trip with Intripid travel my Original idea I have now booked a 38 day Asian tour with Stray solely on the basis of how good Michael was and hoping that the Asian guides are as competent and as seriously good as Michael.

I am the sort of guest who always likes to provide feedback whether it’s good or bad and in this case Michael has provided the whole tour with his own personality and the guests have all become one big family.

I had the best time ever on the Stray Travel Kaka Tour! Our tour guide was Cam and he was amazing, he made the tour so fun and always made sure the group were having a good time!

The whole trip had such a good balance of included activities and optional extras, so you could make the experience your own. And if you’re thinking about adding an extra activity, you HAVE to do the stargazing/ crater experience in Lake Tekapo!

All of the accommodations were also great, some even with an hot tub or swimming pool! Everything was clean, comfy, and you could tell the hotels were picked out carefully

Overall it was such an unforgettable, amazing experience. If you’re thinking about exploring New Zealand South Island, this tour is literally perfect. Would recommend 100% and I’ll definitely be back to see the North!

The New Zealand Adventure tour was incredible and our driver Jacob made it even better. We got to see so many beautiful sights and he really cared about all our needs. I would definitely recommend the Adventure tour to everybody who wants to see the best parts of New Zealand.

Our tour guide Jacob Carr gave us a wonderful experience of Aotearoa New Zealand. His knowledgeable commentary about NZ's history, Maori culture, the volcanic, earthquake and bubbling geyser locations and the wonderful hiking trails this beautiful country has to offer was astounding and extremely interesting!

I loved the Stray Tour with our guide Whaea. She's such a loving, caring, and positive person. I took her to my heart. You could see that she led the tour with a lot of heart and wanted everyone to have a good time on the trip. My entire group was great; we all got along really well right away and had wonderful days and evenings together. I highly recommend any tour with Whaea. You're in good hands.

I did the Takahe tour on the South Island and I had really great days. The accommodations, the activities, meals... everything was well organized. My first time traveling solo I decided to go with Stray Travel Ruru Select tour in January 2025. What an exceptional tour it was. The selection of accommodations were outstanding and the tour was fantastic giving us a variety of adventures. Our tour guide Whaea Nicole was an exceptional driver, tour guide, her knowledge of New Zealand was beyond exceptional. Nicole guided through New Zealand seamlessly and was also there to book all the extra adventures for us, keeping 15 of us all happy. Our ages on this tour were 18 to 77 and we molded like we knew each other for years. What a great wonderful time we had. I would HIGHLY recommend Stray and particularly Whaea Nicole for this tour, they go way beyond and the value is unbeatable. Thank you again Nicole and Stray for making this tour a memory I'll never forget!!

Kia ora! I really loved the Ruru tour from Stray Travel. You pass so many beautiful places and you have many options for activities. We had a small group and that was very nice with our tour guide, Whaea Nicole. She’s super sweet, caring and involved. I traveled alone, but she immediately made sure that I felt at home. During the tour she gives a lot of background information and we’ve also listened a lot to music from our group Spotify playlist. Whaea Nicole also took care of all the activities and communicated this well in time. I can only say that I really enjoyed this tour. New Zealand is absolutely beautiful and I loved the cultural aspects. I would do it again in a heartbeat. -Nikki

The Select Kereru tour was perfect! A great blend of tourist attractions and off the beaten track. I was worried it was only aimed at young travellers but there were every age from 24 to 73 and we all got on well.
Our tour guide, Nicole/Whaea, was full of great tips and made everything run smoothly.

We had an amazing experience with our Stray tour guide and driver, Nicole! She was not only knowledgeable and professional but also incredibly kind and caring. When my mother had an injury during our trip, Nicole went above and beyond to make sure she was comfortable and taken care of. Her attentiveness and support made a huge difference, and we are so grateful for her help. Aside from that, she made the tour fun, engaging, and seamless from start to finish. We highly recommend Nicole to anyone looking for a stray guide and driver who truly cares about her guests

Loved the itinerary.. chose the perfect places to experience most of new zealand in a sort time. Very well organized and all that was promised was spot on.. if not better.. really loved it and would recommend it to all. Thanks . Money well spent.

I had an amazing time on the 20 day TUI tour! It was great to see so much of the North and South Island in a short period. The trip wouldn’t have been a half as good without our legend of a tour guide Jacob. Jacob’s knowledge and enthusiasm for New Zealand was amazing and it really made the trip that much better.

The trip was just great. The itinerary was really good with a lot of fun spots and with great options for activities at the places we stopped. Jacob was such a great tour guide and he made our trip so easy going and so fun!
