Not reliable

They are having major bug for about two months, some random files get stuck in upload queque, which makes not reliable anymore for backup. Does not synchronize correctly the files.

Sad System

Ok here is my story I have had sugarsync for years, and now it is time to go thru my 70 gb of files and clean them up, reduce the size so I can put them on portable drives and wind up my account. A case in point is photos where I have 6000 pics. So I tried to delete a bunch in this case 936, and hit the delete button and all I get is a spinning graphic and then a message saying that sorry your request could not be processed. Not acceptable, it took me an hour or so to choose the 936 pics, such a waste of time. The other annoying thing is that if your file is large the zip function does not appear to work. I over paid over all the years, and now this. Dont bother with this back up there are other better ones for way less!

I had a file stuck while uploading and…

I had a file stuck while uploading and Ken from SugarSync went back and forth with me, trying different means to fix it, until we had a life session and trying out different ways to fix it, he did. I am very happy with the personalized service I got as well as with the product and have been a satisfied customer for about a decade.

My confidence in Sugarsync engineering has taken a fatal knock

I've been a Sugarsync customer for many, many years. I'm a fan of the service since I like the combination of sync and backup, which few if any other services offer. However, my confidence in them has taken another, perhaps fatal, knock. There was an outage (some certificate issue? I can't remember) a few years ago that took time to fix. Then a few weeks ago my files were stuck in upload, and wouldn't sync across machines. It took four days for tech support to respond, by which time I'd moved all my data over to OneDrive; I needed a sync solution. According to the website, their engineers have been working for more than a month and there's still no general resolution. I got a mail offering hand-holding tech support if I still had problems, but it was clear they hadn't identfied the root cause. I no longer feel I can rely on Sugarsync they way I need to rely on a backup service.

I've used Sugarsync for years and find…

I've used Sugarsync for years and find it much better than alternatives (especially buggy Onedrive). But occasionally there are technical problems. My most recent problem with files being stuck in Upload was solved with a workaround and I received timely help and updates. But here's what I don't get. For years (a decade?) I've been paying an extra $99 a year for premium answer desk service. That used to seem worth it when I had a phone number that was answered quickly by a tech expert. But recently, after changing computers, I had some problems and when I called the number it was never answered. I was prompted to leave a message but no one called back. In my recent experience I just used the in-all help that everyone else seems to use. I can't find any info about this online. So am I wasting my money? What special service am I supposed to get for $99?

Always ready to help

Ken was very helpful when my Sugarsync was stuck in "Waiting to Add..". I am still having some problems but Ken is always there ready to help. Thanks, Ken.

Back working excellently

My Sugarsync stopped working after an upgrade to my operating system. After talking to Sugarsync support with a short wait time, they escalated the problem. The problem of not being able to connect was corrected within 24 hours. Great news. HG

I had a wonderful experience with Luis M.

I had a wonderful experience with Luis M. when I called to close my SugarSync account. I have been a faithful subscriber for many years. Luis was very understanding when I told him my subscription had auto-renewed in April without my realizing it until I got my credit card bill today, 35 days after the subscription renewed. He graciously helped me get a substantial portion of my payment returned to me. It was a pleasure to receive such kindness from your organization. My best wishes to Luis in his career with you. He should be considered a high-value employee.

Doesn’t work if you use Quickbooks

Their system created thousands of duplicate files then they blamed me for manually creating them. It also skipped backing up every folder that had any sort of Quickbooks file in it and told me that I manually went out and turned off over 100 folders from being backed up and that I must just not remember doing it. Doesn’t work if you use Quickbooks.

The support guys

The support guys, Luis, Paulo, etc are great once you get to them. Getting to them is the problem. I hate being on hold for a period of time and then left with the only option of leaving a voice mail which is usually not responded to within the time i need help. Have to call again and again. Its all about money. Hire more support staff.

An excellent digital file backup service

I have been using Sugarsybc for many years on the recommendation of a friend working in the IT sector. All my saved files are automatically synchronised to the site and changed accordingly. I can access files from any other device, including restoration to a new device following loss of the hard drive.
The modest cost of the service is good value.

I teach fire survival to the general public …

I teach fire survival to the general public. This involves a number of software products - PowerPoint, Word, Excel. All components of my program are uploaded to SugarSync (and it's very easy to do this), then fire departments that want to use my program can easily download all or some, then tweak them to personalize to their needs. I love SugarSync.
