SumofUs has actually made major changes in how big businesses function (e.g., plucking angora rabbit fur from live rabbits). They often sponsor bottom-up movements on the behalf of indigenous peoples. I have found them trustworthy, accountable, and willing to respond to questions. It is one of the three such campaigns to which I regularly contributed.

One time donation, seems to be 'membership'
One time donation, seems to be a membership. Made a 1,- euro donation via paypal. A week later they take another euro. At time of payment this wasn't clear.
To get unsubscribed take a lot of work. It smells a little scam like to be honest....

SumofUs manipulate vulnerable people
I started to follow some of the SumofUs petitions and causes. Some seemed really good, but one in particular put me off. The petition to get insurance companies to cancel coverage for a pipeline. They posted pictures that I believe are over 10 years old and said it happened last month. They choose terrible images to fool people I guess. Not impressed

They come up with the problesm that concern us all, show how big companies work and how the make the workd a wors place. Of course there are a lot of Problem all aver the world, but you can choose when and for what you want to spend a little bit of money and you will learn more every day. Good job!
