If it lasts longer than the original alarm it will be fantastic. Last one lasted 2 yes but was fitted by electrician so I didn't have a receipt. Guaranteed for 5 years but contacted maker and got back email saying about cleaning. I had already read the instructions, changed the battery and cleaned etc.

This interlinked with some RED ARROW smoke detectors that I have, my fire guy recommended I try this brand. It was easy to install and worked so I am happy. Not expensive.
