Caught the malware instantly

I noticed my cpu at idle would go to 10%, if i opened task manager it would go down to 2% obviously suspecting a virus of some kind, i dug around trying to figure it out. Someone online recommended hitman pro. i did a quick free scan, and it caught the malware immedietly. It pointed me to my Appdata/local/update folder, which had an exe in it called WindowsUpdateService.exe and a txt file containing a crypto wallet address

Purchased HitmanPro

Purchased HitmanPro. They sent an exe file that would not open. I spent an hour caught in their "customer service" do loop. There is no customer service. There is no direct contact. Their "cancel your order" kicks you out of the page. I finally filed with PayPal to get my money back. Their customer service is worse than horrible. An hour of my life in frustration.

Thanks for the money, See ya later! (Never)

I recently purchased and installed (9/20/18), the latest version of HitmanPro. on a windows 7 64bit laptop. Installed and ran without issue. However, a yellow box warning comes up on every scan: "IRP_MJ_SCSI Kernel-Mode Hook on iastore.sys Detected" with a serious warning that this could hide malicious software. That's it! Nothing more. never explained. It further states it was bypassed, whatever that means.

Tried to find a link to contact SOPHOS/HitmanPro: NOTHING on the internet including Sophos, Completely dark.

My only conclusion: They gladly took my money then vanished! No email, no website, no contact in any form. Adios. And if it wouldn't install and wanted a refund? Forget It!

I consider Sophos/Hitman Pro to be Internet wallet Hit men.

I had a 2 year subscription with this …

I had a 2 year subscription with this product, was fine till I needed to reinstall windows on my pc.

when attempting to activate after my second reinstall I got a message maximum activations reached. a message to surfright resulted in nothing. all attempts to get any product support was impossible. As I purchased it via a 3rd party website I contacted them. cleverbridge were really helpful and even contacted surfright on my behalf but couldn't help me any further.

Surfright on the other hand were not at all willing to respond to my emails asking for help. Nothing at all from them.

I found out that Sophos now owned hitman so I contacted them, again no help, they would communicate with me and sympathetic to my claim but were unable to help me, said I need to contact surfright, they had no support ability for the product they own nor would they escalate this issue.

So I now have 17 months of subscription I cant use.

Not happy...

I have the same problem with HitmanPro

I have the same problem with HitmanPro. I am using the same computer but had to reinstall Windows 7 because corrupt programs were a problem. I have nearly 12 months to run on my license but still got the "You have reached the maximum number of activations". To me this is very dark business practice. Now I have to go cap in hand and ask "please reactivate".. Now would someone tell me how I can email customer services. Ican't find anywhere on there website.

Scam

I was trying to activate my hitmanpro/hitmanpro.alert but i got the message” The maximum amount of allowed activations has been reached. You are trying to activate your product key on more computers then you purchased a license for.”

It should currently be active at 0 computers, but my wife and me both upgraded our computers, and i had activated HMP on my old one more than once because of re-install.

I contacted customer service with my cleverbridge reference number, and they asked for my serial key, so i sent them a copy of my receipt, and after that they ignored me.

after a week i wrote them from another email address, and then it took 4 minutes to get a reply here is the reply i got when i complained :

"The 1PC license is for 1 computer during the license period. Of course we understand computers get replaced and reinstalled sometimes, so we offer a second activation after a while. Besides this, we can reset the key once during the license period. This means a 1PC license can be activated 3 times during the license period, but only with our help."

My 1 year licence (for 3 PCs) are not valid. because they think i activated it too many times. Hell, im a PC geek, if my windows messes up i just re-install it.

I even send them a copy of my receipt, but that did not help.
So i asked if i could get a refund of my remaining days, and after that they just choose to ignore me again.

I bought this to avoid scams and such, but i ended up feeling that SurfRight scammed me.

My advice, stay away from SurfRight and find an alternative to their software.
