I'm old school. I don't like e-commerce, I want to go to a shop, speak face to face with someone, and see the stock 'in the flesh', try it on/try it out. My experience at Surf Store was outstanding. Very friendly, knowledgeable staff working out of modern well stocked premises set in the Stockton countryside. Competitively priced too. If you live in the North East don't even consider clicking that mouse before you've visited these guys.

Fantastic customer service. I ordered a Shinn Kite board as a present. When it was opened there was a manufacturing fault (a glazing crack that could not have been seen by Surfstore as it was hidden in original wrapping). The fault was discovered on a Sunday, and i thought it was hopeless because i was flying out for a kiting holiday the following Wednesday.

Never fear - that Monday incredibly helpful staff sorted out a delivery and exchange for the Tuesday - in time for me to fly out Wednesday!

They sold me a kite that they didn't have in stock, using a discount code they gave me that they subsequently wouldn't accept. It took them 4 days to cancel the order. They offered me no alternative. When I pushed them, they offered me a slight upgrade at a cost of an additional £200. They didn't seem to care at all when I complained that this had caused me quite a bit of inconvenience.
